Idk what everyone’s on about. The only non f2p friendly mechanic is the pass you get for free for 2 weeks. I’ve been playing almost since it came out and I’m level 14. I have okay decks, but have so much fun playing them. Yeah progress slows down, do yall wanna complete the pokedex 5 days after it came out?😭 complete the missions and have fun w it, don’t worry about heavy competition until ur ready :)

You prolly stopped at level 3, use the wonder picks and that should get u to level 4 and then by opening booster packs you get tokens and stuff that lets you open 10 more packs, don’t link ur account and just wait till u get pulls u like then link

Just a few things for new players (you probably know this stuff by now): when you open a pack that has a star rare (illustration card) it has a special star animation that comes out of the pack along with a sound. There are theories that backwards packs and bent packs have better chances of hitting rare cards but it's completely false - they just do that to add a little flavor to make it a more "authentic" experience. The game is super fun and is getting a lot of new players into playing the actual game but I think the new players would be a little overwhelmed if they played the full card game because this one has stripped it down and made it a bit easier and streamlined. A lot of the advanced tactics are gone and until they start adding expansions the online battling can be pretty lopsided depending on your pulls. More money = more pulls = better decks = frustration for those of us who aren't blessed with enough money to open tons of packs. Pikachu ex and the Misty trainer card are totally broken in online battles and it wouldn't be surprising to see them get nerfed in the future. Best part about not paying for packs is that you don't get depressed when you get a dud pack. Also, there are god packs but they're very rare.

I played this for a few hours today. Collected over 100 cards. Up to level 6 or 7. Built a few decks and done a few battles. Hit a wall though. My decks aren't good enough to get past intermediate battles. I'll keep my eye on the daily missions to see if i can get more than 2 packs in 24 hours. Certainly need more expansions. I got a cool mewtwo card that went into an animation when i opened it. Camera went inside the card and beyond the artwork. Was awesome

It's a dopamine heavy game at the very beginning, with little to no actual content as you progress further. As a f2p, you can't go past lvl14--15 with the PvE content. I'm done with all the free content in a day. I had high hopes, thinking it would be like the early versions of Legends of Runeterra. But, yeah, f2p probably aren't the target demographic of this game

I got Pikachu interactive card in my main I'D. What I really don’t like about this video is that it doesn’t give justice to all the other things pocket has to offer, like just this many packs is easily possible if you just finish the tutorial, know how to use the app, and have done a couple dozen battles and completed all the main missions (which is incredibly easy by the way) so I feel like it really paints this image that the game is heavily pay to win when in reality you can very easily pull all of this stuff of you’re dedicated, and lucky enough
