Puddin you might want to put the merch portion up front with a roll up door for shipping and receiving. Plus you would have a direct route from the shop to your office and putting the roll up door on the front of the addition would look better from the house and make the building more symmetrical from the front for a better look.

Yeah, office in the back. You will probably wanna put in a minisplit AC unit, and it would be hidden in the back. Garage door in the front, to be able to back in the yeehawl to load/unload.

Having the merch up in front will also give more isolation, so noise/music/etc won't carry over as easily for filming

Yeah that’s a good idea, works well for loading and unloading of the merch, I was also thinking if he set the two sheds back far enough and added another concrete pad so they sat side by side, after the merchandise is moved over to the new building he could utilize those two sheds for storing small parts like carburetors or intakes, nuts and bolts. And that would still leave a lot of room for metal racks

If you haven’t thought about it, keep in mind a place to do your pressure washing and drainage for that area. Also maybe some kind of shade structure over the concrete area between buildings, it’s gonna get hot in there since it will be sheltered from any breeze.

As tall as the building would be you could mezzanine a 2nd floor & double your square footage fairly cheap. I was curious if you plan on having a parts room & a clean room inside the shop for building engines & transmissions. If you don't plan on having one inside the shop, you could always widen the concrete pad on the end of the shop & turn the merch buildings into a clean room & possible parts room. You could cut a door at the end of the shop & face the small buildings against the shop so you could access the buildings from inside the shop. Put them in the far right rear corner, that way you could still use the front area for outside storage like you already planned on doing. If you do plan on putting a 2nd floor whether it's a traditional floor or mezzanine, you could put in a 4'x4' or 5'x5' lift (like an open elevator) to be able to store heavy objects upstairs & keep it out of your way downstairs in the shop. I worked in the parts department for a Jeep, Chrysler & Dodge dealership for 16 years & we had one & it was so nice being able to get heavy or bulky items upstairs on the mezzanine. This is what is so nice about what you are doing. You can design & build whatever you want within reason. Thanks for sharing your plans with us & I'm looking forward to seeing what you decide to do. Y'all definitely deserve everything good that is happening and will happen in the future!!

If you add on to that shop make sure there’s someplace for all that rainwater to go. This is usually the first thing everyone forgets until they get that first frog choker. A 30x60 shop produces about 1100 gallons of runoff per inch of rainfall.

The other thing to think about, every improvement you make, you are building home equity with a new house , pond, workshop and storage buildings, landscaping it all increases the property value greatly, a sound investment for you and family's future Steel buildings of all sizes can be ordered color coded and fully fabricated on site in 2-3 days, all you need is a concrete slab. A quick google search showed all that you spoke of is available or somewhat close to your area or maybe its closer to Mortske. Best wishes, Good luck Puddin and congrats in all your endeavors.

Put the roll up shed on the concrete pad, flush with the end of the shop. Then put the merch shed on a block foundation off of the concrete pad and facing the roll up shed. Then you'll have that 6 or whatever feet of concrete between the two for access. Plus easy vehicle access for Ship & Rec. When the addition is done, just push the roll up to it's Hush House position, the renovate the other into 'Puddin's Nap Shack & Snack Shop' or whatever. P.S. I'm holding out for a possible 'Shit The Bed' T-Shirt - C'mon!

When planning the layout: 1) Consider access to the bathroom by your merchandise helper. 2) The view from your office. It makes a difference when you spend hours in there. 3) Consider adding a laundry area with a separate washing machine for greasy clothing and such. The missus should appreciate that. I expect used washers and dryers can be found inexpensively. 4) That, then, would need hot water.

When dad and I were building race cars, we decided to buy sign equipment to letter our own cars. Then we did merchandise, we bought t-shirt printers and embroidery machines to keep it all in house. That was 45 years ago. Still use all of it as a side business. I know, not everyones cup of tea. As far as temp merchandise, maybe consider one on the concrete and the other on the dirt facing the concrete. Run power through the one to the other. Makes for a distance trip behind them but helps with immediate access to merch. Bathroom is a must, especially when you get to my age (30 second rule).

1) Put a loft in the rear portion of the larger building. This would be a good use of wasted place. 2) Prepare the back place and gravel for all you vehicles awaiting your attention. 3) Plow under all the overgrown area. Make it a pasture. Get animals that would eat the grass. 3) Make sure you have a dressing room, shower/bathtub/whirlpool, and work clothes closest with washer and dryer. Your family then would not have work clothes mixing with good clothes. You could clean up and then come home sparkling clean. 4) Never use railroad ties for landscaping. Use stacked flat rocks. Rocks do not rot. Termites do not eat rock. Never plant things that takes too much upkeep. 5) Sell vehicles you do not need. Then, you do not need to move them but once. 6) Something to sleep on. Just because you will get tired. 7) Get viewers to come out and have a work frenzy. Many hands make soon an end. 8)I am a skilled organizer. No brag, just fact.

Put the area you use the most in the front and match the garage doors of the current big side. Likely have the merch in front with access for box truck delivery and shipping. If you can make a loft happen, a bathroom and office up top and back gets you even more space. Don't forget a bike rack for Bill and a room for him to crash after a long ride. If you roughly grade out and rock your future project yard you will be happy as well. Make it so it won't hold water. Easier to move the project, less muddy, less weeds.......less maintenance. Best of luck and looking forward to seeing the results. Keep up the great work.

Suggestion with the Merch Sheds. How about putting the shipping/fulfillment shed on the front pad tight to the wall between the Ford Tailgate and the corner of the 60' shop (since you already have an outlet right there) and put the overflow shed on the new concrete pad with the entry door even with the corner of the 60' shop, maybe extend the cement pad 5'-10' so Nathan can avoid the mud coming around the corner. Once you move everything into the new building (I suggest build 2 floors tall, add 2nd floor later) you then slide the shed back even with the back corner to be used for the `compressor hush house' I also suggest adding a man door (maybe a double wide) to the wall facing the `junk yard', so you dont have to walk around the building or open the overhead doors to go out there for a part or some metal (incase you add Heat & AC)

I sure hope I’m wrong but I don’t think I’d bank on the KZbin thing being around in 2 decades. I honestly think like everything else the fad is going to wear off and/or be replaced with something new and more exciting to people. Influencers should probably think more like Garrett Mitchell aka cleetus McFarland and invest in another business to fall back on. If I were you puddin I think I would focus more on building more restorods and create a business of building and selling them. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think KZbin is going to remain a viable business in the future. Also you can’t bank on future generations wanting to watch you work and buy your merch. Please don’t take this as me being a troll or hater. I want nothing more than for you to keep thriving but history has proven everything that is a fad so to speak fades out. I’m a huge puddin fan and I want the best for you and your family but please think about another business to have just in case you need it.

For the temporary merch sheds, could you have the guys run out to a box on the wall with some w/proof sockets, to power the sheds then when the sheds go you can use that box to put lights etc under your storage area. Could you not put a mezzanine floor above the original workshop area for the office, looking down on your projects in hand. I owned a big bodyshop in the UK for 30 years, i had one garage with an office like that, it always looked good looking down on the workshop,, a good perspective on the shop. You deserve all the good you get, best of luck to you👍

Build a sauna and a cold plunge in the gym. Trust me, it’s way better having it than not. The health benefits from both will help your measly 20 minute workout 😝 Love you Puddin’. I’m so glad to see you always pushing forward. I look at that 50k subscriber tshirt pretty often and it inspires me.

These videos are the reason I watch specific youtubers. Stuff like this is the same thing I do wondering around my shop and back yard, they make you a "real" person and relatable. Not just some dude on youtube building a new shop so you can work on your Lambo or something

You should put the bathroom in the corner where the dividing wall meets the current shop so you have easy access to the bathroom from the shop, merch room, gym, and office.

If you put a mezzanine floor in the new wing, you could have your space over the merch shop, or have both over top of vehicle/parts storage (with a slide for Hotrod and finished orders) Double the floorspace baby!!!!

Great idea, right now your new shop is bigger than what you’ve had, but you will find you could use more, like a tool room, tire machine, welders, a lathe, etc. people watch you for car things, how to fix, etc. some for your humor. In reality go for 40x 60 with a 16 ft side wall that way you could go two story over the office for merchandise. With the taller roof you could go two story in the back for additional room upstairs for merchandise or storage.

I agree with the U shape, since you’re going create a private stage in the middle to shoot your videos. It also keeps you out of the wind and gives privacy as well.

If you pour gravel and turn the sheds to face the building where you place them on the gravel so you step from the concrete directly in and still keep the usefulness of the concrete you can always use them for parts after the shop expansion
