I don't think that is what is happening. You are far from "overloading" your console, in fact you cannot overload it (whatever you are defining "overloading" as). Consoles have operating systems like regular computers that manage resources like CPU load and memory utilization, so when you launch a game for instance you are getting the operating system to check available resources and run the program that is the game within those constraints. When you close the game these resources get reassigned to a pool where the OS can reuse those resources for the next game you choose to play.
