The first two issues are BMW's fault but the last issue is most likely due to your map. Your meant to run in M cars and not drive them crazy for the first 1200 miles.

It doesn't matter what you buy, these issues can happen to literally any car. I've had BMW and my neighbor owns 4 of them and all good experiences. Sometimes you get the short end of the stick unfortunately. Definitely buy what you want.

The Acorn has nothing to do with most of the issues he’s had. Going over Break in Rev limitations and such wouldn’t effect the drive train for example.

@@CrustyActual Yes it very well can, the diff fluid is swapped out at 1200 miles with a less abrasive lubricant. the dude didn't just rev it above 4k he drove it damn well hard and even tried saying on facebook that he edited the sounds to make it sound like he was going fast.... Realistically if BMW sees the video he deleted theres a good chance they will void the warranty

@@Adamwarren27 I do not own a BMW, however, i have internet, and according to BMW you should not exceed 5500 RPM before 1200/200 km miles. Moreover, it is common knowledge that you should not floor a brand knew car (+ BMW says that you should avoid full load or kickdown), in order to be properly runed in, a car needs to be draven gently and the load should be slowle increased. Whatever the manufacturer says, my car was driven gently until I totaled more than 2000 km with it and it runs great. Looking back at alex's vidéos, he flored it numerous times. Maybe he did not exceeded thos 5500 RPM, but he certainly did pushed his engine to its limits (for a brand new one) that's why I'm not surprised at those reliability problems.

them not knowing how to recode a car is because BMW garages here are not ACTUALLY BMW, they operate in groups under BMW name, they have to go back to BMW themselves to find out, all takes time, and you will probably find that BMW are recluctant to hand over such information to the UK garages

bmw need to figure it out - we had an X5M50d in to add a small module under the dashboard. we picked it up with a hole in the doorcard, a dent in the glovebox, and whilst they had coded in the thing they had added, they had left the heated steering wheel (from the factory) and the sat nav uncoded, thus non-funtional :( i call BS on them having to re-code the car just to remove a part of the engine though... probably broke something in the process and had to cover up...

I wouldn’t blame BMW directly for your car, I would assume the privately owned BMW franchise where you purchased the car is the cause of all the frustration. If they kept you updated and come up with a solution instead of stalling then it would all be ok such as giving you a replacement or a courtesy M2 for the time being.

Alex, sad news about the car. But honestly mate don't let it put you off BMW's in its entirety. I own a BMW myself and had no issues with it. I've always said to myself with any performance vehicle to stick to the "5-1" rule (500-1000 miles) to run in the engine before putting the foot down. But keep going mate, sounds like its the dealer that has issues rather than BMW itself.
