Teviant is a brand by a makeup artist (Albert Kurniawan) here in the Philippines. It's expensive makeup. Squad is the total opposite; super affordable. BLK is by an actress (Anne Curtis Smith-Heussaff), she wanted it to look like k-beauty. Ellana Minerals started with only mineral powder makeup (powder primer, foundation, concealer, multi-use loose pigments)-- the first brand I started using and buying years ago. Being a tropical country, most of the Filipinas use powder makeup more (my grandmother and my mom does). The creams or liquid makeup are usually tints that don't budge through sweat; they have to. That's also why there are many lip products and those lip products can be used on the cheeks or the lids as well. I kinda wanted a quick first impressions of the Happy Skin lip mousse. Please do a part 2 for this box.

And look at all those lippies, just consider each one of them costing about 100 php (2 USD). Manny did mentioned there are atleast 40 lippies in the box. Filipino cosmetics are actually very targeted to Filipino skin and weather, that's why it's so pigmented and lightweight... the ingredients they use are meant to keep the make-up on long even against heat and sweat. I've been waiting for a box from the Philippines ever since you started this series! As a filipino makeup enthusiast who began her love for makeup through youtube 10 years ago (when the only makeup brands in the PH were maybelline, revlon and 2 local filipino brands), it just makes me so proud to see how far our local beauty industry has gone and finally through this video, recognized as well. Surprisingly the quality of filipino local brands are really high mainly because filipinos in the Ph buy and use makeup as a luxury and form of self care. Since we would have to allot most of our money for necessities (school, food, transportation), makeup should be at its best quality in order for people to really spend on it. 😊 Seeing Jaz give you all the best from the best in the middle of a pandemic (the whole metro is under quarantine and we all couldnt really go out) really makes me so happy and proud. I just wanna say kudos to Jasmin for making us proud with the box she sent you. Those are actually some of the well-known brands in the Philippines (both make up and non-make up stuff). And yes, $300 goes a really long way here because prices are way cheaper than in the US. Easier comparison is you can buy mcdonald's burger for half a dollar.

IKR?! When I saw the little packages and the brands I was shookt!! I tried buying BLK makeup from the Philippines when my parents went home, and they’re almost the same price as the make up here in the US 😭😫. Considering the amount of BLK products and all the Philippines version of high end products, altogether it’s definitely way over budget. 15 x 20 = 300! I know not all of it costs $20 each, but there were so much makeup items (each bag was like 15 items). And all those items adds up not to mention shipping costs as well. All in all, she did such an amazing job itemizing and labeling! She’s so thoughtful and has a giving ❤️. She likes to bless people. The added cute fun souvenirs, flag, food/snacks I’m sure were out of pocket as well.
