I too have used those black rocks from the Dollar Tree and I purchased a white marker and then just write things on it and then seal it. Leaving rocks for others to find is absolutely a wonderful thing to do..... kindness in the simplest way

The Rock I found had a sentiment on the back that was typed on paper and cut out and sealed with like a clear varnish

Derinda B it’s a detailing brush from Hobby Lobby. I find them near the airbrush supplies.

Hi Nicole. I rinse the rocks and let them dry. It’s not necessary to prime them unless you just want a neat service to draw or paint on. I like to. I use gray so I can always choose to go lighter or darker with my next choice of color. I seal with Liquitex acrylic medium, high gloss varnish. I wish you the best! How did you remove that wax coating. Paint will not stick to mine.

I washed them in hot water with dawn soap. But I still had some rocks that didn’t want to take the paint. I sponged the undercoat on them.

Oh. Lol I thought that was like the idea of it. I mean some rocks I've painted i have a hard time letting go because I spent over an hour painting one, but I did love the idea of someone finding my mini landscape painting and just maybe they take it home and put it on thier desk or shelf or something. Orr... some kid finds it and throws it in the street lol its all a mystery 😂
