The adhesive side looks similar, less the barcode, which also threw me off. Just gotta remember that the side with the paper it sticks to goes on the window, though I'm using a Sticker Shield so the RFID tag doesn't break if I ever have to peel it off if I clean my windshield.

I thought the exact same thing. So weird that card has a box saying “place sticker here”. One of my guess is when the vendor seal the mail, that is the place where the original sticker is just placed.. like put on that area. Other than that, no ideas at all.

This video was helpful. The card with the block saying "Place sticker here" is highly confusing. Why would they do that? It seems the card is telling the user to stick the transponder sticker in the box. But then there's no way to attach it to the windshield so thanks for the video to clear this up.

Some toll stations want you to scan barcodes.. My transponder was not working, and I was able to scan a barcode that was on transponder. If it's on a card, you can scan it. Otherwise, you have to call for help and give them the serial number. This was on skyway.

I saw a lady get her sticker on that spot and she just peeled it off and was able to put it on her window so..idk I got 2 so they didn’t come attached to the card like hers showed

I have the same problem so I mounted it to the right of the black tinted part behind the mirror and it won't read it. I have been paying full price for 6 weeks. Can't find anything that shows a windshield like mine for installation.

I have the same issue, technically it should not matter as long as it is at the upper part of windshield because of RFID chip reader. I just don't want to be the one that makes a mistake because of some silly reason why they say to mound it specifically at that location where newer cars do not have a space for. Has anybody experimented with different locations?

I have the same issue. My Volvo windshield has stock black painted area around rear view therefore I can’t place where they advise. Illinois Tollway should have taken into consideration newer car windshields as their instructions are not one-size-fits-all. Shame on them! They’re so behind the times. It’s pathetic. Anyone have suggestions on where to place sticker if their instructions don’t apply to your windshield?

The problem with this installation method is the note that the sticker is stuck to the windshield you can't take it off to use it with your rental car when you travel. Is there a way to reuse the old transponder mount so that you can take the sticker with you when you travel?

Hello, that’s an easy fix when you register online you can add the license plate number to your account Make sure you take it off when you return the car.

Newer cars unfortunately dont have that space under the rearview mirror. I placed it as close I could, and the sticker tag works sometimes. It read 3/4 tolls last time I was on highway.

I placed it directly as you did right under the rear view mirror mount however, instructions say to the right at least one inch will it make a difference as I don't have an electronic rearview mirror?

It seems bizarre that the upc code and serial number gave the inside of the vehicle… but I suppose that’s why it has to be registered first - as long as you register the car that the sticker is going in, you’ll be good to go!

Oh my gosh 😂. Thank you guys I was trying to Install mine today and was like why is the barcode facing inward. It seems backward it seems like that should be outward uh 😮. But thank you guys I did it right. And yes those of us with newer cars won t be able to put in smack in the middle I just put it as close as I could and it’s ok with me .

You don't What you do is basically on your account you contact and you have it activated for the car like a rental and that will use the license plate and charge And when it's over make sure you take that off from the rental so the next person that uses the car when the license plate crosses through doesn't get free tolls via you

You mount with the bar code facing towards the inside of the car. The sticker has wires integrated on the inside, which is why they ask you not to bend the sticker. These wires are responsible for sending out the signal.
