Congrats! I would say this DPE does not sound the best. Just because you did a Go-around does not mean he should be upset. Then he rushes you on slow flight to hurry up. Unreal. Being a pilot means being patient, thinking straight and making the best decisions.
@FlyingwithKev3 жыл бұрын
I have heard that DPEs sometime do this to create pressure to see how the student handles that pressure. Every DPE distribute exams differently, while following the same ACS standards, so you never know exactly what your getting lol. I have heard worst stories of examiners so I am thankful, I passed!

Congratulations bro! I have my check ride on January 12. Sounds like your DPE was a bit unreasonable. I was told don't rush your maneuvers, go arounds are always welcomed, risk management decision making, and if you are a safe pilot. Good luck thanks for sharing.

Thank you! My DPE was a little “old school” with the pressure. That is awesome advice, Victor. I would stick to that advice. Safer is better! Good luck on your check ride! That’s right around the corner.

Which video did you watch about the steep turn? I will like to watch it as well because I have been struggling with my left steep turns. Thanks
@FlyingwithKev Жыл бұрын
I don’t remember the exact video, but I had a checklist of a steep turn. And every video I watched I would add a tip or item to that checklist if I found something I thought would be useful. Every steep turn video is going to be a little different because of its creator and their technique.

10:40 Dude….. you didn’t look for that on Google earth the day before? I Google Earth everything! haha.. Then at 23:00 wow.. I’m only about a month into learning and I instantly knew that you have to remove some flaps and increase that AOA to climb. So that makes me feel good about all the time I’ve spent this far in my flight SIM. Which I fly in almost every day. Your video is very helpful. I took a lot of notes. Thank you for this video!

Hey Rob! Good question. My phone automatically updates when changing timezones once I take it out of airplane mode once we land. I haven’t flown that far solo, but I have flown a lot of international in my flight attendant career.

How much time did you take from your day one to check ride?
@FlyingwithKev3 жыл бұрын
It took a me a one year from start to finish while working at the airlines as a Flight Attendant. From what I’ve heard getting your PPL can be some trial and error, especially part 61. I had to figure what training regimens work best for me! It turns out volume of training and consistency work best for me. Like 3-4 lessons a week.
