I enjoy experimenting with aquaponics and I can tell you that aquaponics is completely unpredictable. You're right, the outcome is never going to be what you might expect. Whether or not this is good or bad is a matter of perspective. I've had some very nice surprises and some disappointments. Ultimately, nature is going to do exactly whatever it feels like doing in any given moment, regardless of what you try to do. You can have the water, the lighting and everything absolutely perfect, and not get good results. You can also get much better results than you technically should have gotten or ever thought you could possibly get. Nature does what it wants. It is untameable. We can nudge it, guide it and give it prods and suggestions and so on, but ultimately -- its going to do exactly what it wants to do, which may or may not be what you want.

Bought same seeds off Amazon Used the short grass (5cm) in the back with the same small leaf upfront Looked Amazing for 4-5 weeks Then the grass just straight up uprooted itself and died The small short leaf up front kept growing up Got to half way up tank and lost it’s beautiful green and went yellow . It didn’t die but the leaves became long as it changed getting nutrients from it roots to leaves These seeds are a scam . Or only good for a display tank you change it often after a week There are no short cuts to a long term nice looking planted tank

It likely was torn down the same day it was set up. The only part of this that was built with time considerations in mind was growing the sprouts in the first place. The fish were put in there the day the tank had water. Even if they were actually HC seeds, switching from effectively dry soil growth to immersed growth that early probably killed most of it - even when the roots are immersed there's a shock in switching to fully immersed growth, and these were just planted in moist open grain substrate.

It should, if you take care of it. It might not look 100% clear like it was on day 1, but my brother has a fish tank for at least 20 years now. If you keep the filters clean, change out the plants, and keep some Plecostomus fish in there, and keep chemicals in it to keep the nitrates and ph balance, it should be pretty clear. Saltwater tanks should be crystal clear if you keep them right. Although they are much more expensive, and a lot harder to upkeep.
@charleseskildsen33172 жыл бұрын
@@bryanboone7363 actually saltwater tanks are much easier to maintain then freshwater tanks. Once they are set up correctly and established they are very easy to keep. The bad thing about salt is that when a fish dies you have to have a funeral because the dang fish cost so much money.

The comments here show how little everyone knows about aquascaping and fish keeping. The seeds are not aquatic. They are emerced plants or semi aquatic. They will die off within a month or 2. The tank isn't cycled so the fish would've died when the aquasoil leeches ammonia. It's rather irresponsible to show the wrong way of doing things and ending up killing fish and wasting money
