X Men should have a Hogwarts Legacy type game. Become X institute student and go through all the iconic mutant saga alongside the other characters. Choose your own mutation type and your karma is either Charles or Magneto.

I remember renting this game on Gamefly and breezing through it in a week. Despite feeling repetitive after two playthroughs playing as the female, I didn't hate this game. The ability to have different powers of your choice and have different costumes was what made it fun for me.

I loved if you get a characters whole set you get new properties like running on all fours or getting diamond skin …. I loved the Wolverine challenge race

I remember playing this game and not understanding why people hated it so much. I think it got a little over hyped when the devs started talking about how you get to choose and evolve your powers, and people just took that and let their minds run wild at the possibilities. But it was a fun little game worth playing through at least once.

Context is really important for old game reviews. X-Men Destiny promised the world and only delivered a city block. Months and months of reveals and hype and expert marketing, only to get a $60 game with a 6 hour long story. Reviewers bashed the game for not living up to the hype that the publisher and developer built up; it might be a fine enough game in the vacuum, but context is key to understanding a game's review scores. I'd probably give it a low score for the god awful performance, though

Yeah a few others mentioned the story behind it all, I did read alot of reviews and unfortunately I only read the ones that complained about performance as you mentioned and gameplay, story etc. I was shocked when I saw all the controversy about it afterwards😅

Oh I could explain why it's hated. The game was made by Silicon Knights the same guys behind Eternal Darkness. Long story short, the leader behind this game, Dennis, was smuggling funds into his own game Too Human from this. They didn't really work on the game until the publisher forced them to by making a trailer and giving them a 1 year deadline. The entire process was an absolute mess, and it's even worse on the wii where significant cutscenes got cut. Content removed and more. Also the game is illegal too since it was made using an unauthorized unreal engine. They made a hacked version of the engine and got sued for it and any games made with this illegal engine were to be destroyed

It's a loooooong drawn out story and I'm basically only giving a small fraction of it, but if you want more context, watch DLJadow's review, which goes over the details on how bad the entire situation is. Also apparently there was a rant by Dennis over a truck's color from staff. And there's a long list of staff who left the game in the credits. Dennis didn't want to credit them

I really enjoyed this game on ps3 i liked how depending on what you chose either the X-men or Brotherhood prevented you from doing certain missions also i always had toad jump and buff equiped as it dealt poision damage.

Honestly, this game was so much fun for what it was... loved watching quicksilver smack dudes around and ragdoll them lmao 😂....was interesting mixing and matching alternate abilities with your main ability and just mess around I always liked having quicksilver movement with the phase dodge and shadow as my main ability....man a game like this nowadays would be amazing (if done right)...I have it on xbox and it runs a little better then the ps3 version but just a little bit Really hope that x-men game that insomniac will make is decent

whole "lore" for this game's existence is depressing cause lowkey loved this when I rented it way back when; pretty sure I platinum'd it, or I might have gotten fed up on the last 1-2 trophies I needed and didn't want to pay another week to keep it longer lol Mechageddon might have been the one I lost my patience grinding out if I didn't actually get the platinum; maybe one day I'll get back in my PSN account to see what all I had lol
