I just platinumed this game. It was painful. Not only did I get trapped in Chapter 10 too, but I ran into a bug in Chapter 15 that made it impossible to complete a side quest. So I had to delete my save data twice, and thus ended up playing through the game 3 seperate times before finally getting the platinum.

Something similar happened to me but even far worse. It's about the game Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney. I was in the final chapter right before the ending of the game and I couldn't finish it because I was missing an important item to reach the end but I didn't have that item. The problem was that I didn't have that item and couldn't go back. I would've needed to start the game from scratch and anyone who has played a Professor Layton and Ace Attorney game knows how much hours the whole game consumes and I'm talking about 30 hours of gameplay or even more. I was literally one second away from the end. Even to this day it frustrates me that I couldn't reach the end

It's incredibly saddening that a game that combines the entirety of the show into one game is an overall worse product than the PS2 games that only used barely half of an individual season. Yeah, they aren't great either, but they at least don't force you to run through giant empty hallways just to get anywhere. The only thing this game has over the others is that it has the Cabbage merchant, and destroying his cart is an optional quest line, which I honestly wouldn't want any other way.

Visually combat seems kinda like from Tales of Vesperia, but I assume it's not that. About that achievement lock, it reminds me of Marvel Ultimate Alliance and how in act 2 there is a permamently missable area that you can access again only after doing new game+. At least you don't have to restart everything and game kinda nudges you to restart anyway, so it's not that bad. And we're talking about a game from like 2006, so it was more likely the devs didn't thought about 100% replayable level design. Btw. the whole layout and graphics of that game you played feel similar to that Avatar mobile game that got released like a year ago.

I earned this tragic platinum. This game is way more bugged then you believe from your initial playthrough. I played through the story twice and 100%. The first playthrough, my game wasn't saving my bending scrolls although it says that I am still processing and able to do the moves. I also felt preyed to the bugged room for Chapter 10 in Appa's Cell. Since it happened to me I felt it was my responsibility to upload a video on KZbin about it and post it on Reddit. I found that saving your progression on The Avatar Statues are bugged. To remedy this I'd simply just quit the game. It was still saved but I made sure to do everything on Chapter 10 before not attempting this in Appa's Cell. I knew my lesson. Finally, after earning the platinum, I said, "get this f-ing game out the system."

So they remove story mode entirely and replace it with a "free play" mode that doesn't let you replay levels more than once? I don't understand. The only silver lining here is that, this could technically be called a game breaking bug, and thus might get patched out eventually. If not, about all you could do is transfer all of your save data over to an external and restart a new save. I assume though, that you will need to get every single chest in the game again and not just the single one you missed. Hardly seems worth the time and effort, especially when there is always the chance of making a similar mistake on a different level, and bricking the save again. God this kind of reminds me of the Steam achievements for Ori and the Blind Forest. It is a truly fantastic game, but only a true sadist could've concocted the achievement list. It has two achievements for beating the game without dying. One for doing it on any difficulty, and another for beating it on its dedicated one life mode. Problem is, that this is a highly difficult and fast pass platformer, that is littered with instant death hazards everywhere. There are long sections where you're racing against time, while performing difficult platforming, that will end your run if you miss one single jump. Not even Hollow Knight's list is that brutal, and it is legendary difficult. Side note, the subway surfer mini-game is a bit of a carry over from one of the earlier Avatar games. That being Platinum Game's Legend of Korra title, which had it as well. Funny enough that game had much better combat and an original story with its own original villain, but was fairly short, and to my knowledge, is no longer available for purchase like anywhere.

Yeah I’d deffo have to restart from the beginning and find EVERY chest, which I might do some day! I didn’t know Ori and the Blind Forest was such a difficult one! I’ve actually had my eye on playing that for a while now aswell 😅

I just platinum'ed this game, yes it indeed sucks. I had to replay the story twice because the game basically traps you for saving in Appa's Cell in Lake Laogi. I don't recommend it guys.
