That treasure map u found is actually REALLY good, from past experiences ur loot stage doesn’t effect what’s inside the treasure chests. so on day like 5 if u dig some treasure u can get like 20k dukes. Super OP early game

Knives are what im currently using as my melee in 1.0 and it's been pretty solid so far. It does require a different combat style, but once you get the timing and movement down you'll be set!

First of all, another 7dtd series...loving it brother! btw the 64 zombie hordnight slider scales with level and days survived....so you only get the 64 at the same time with high game stages. Your roof strat is more then viable with 1.0 the more xp you get the harder the game gets....1.0 is scaled around crafting not like the other alphas where you can cheese loot with quests. Quests are worthless now in 1.0 you better get searching for books with the right perks activated.

i wouldnt say quests are worthless, but i guess it depends on how long you expect to play on a save. Being able to reset tier 5 POIS with quests makes them worth it alone. The mag bundles you get from most quest rewards help a lot as well

Beer is actually really good, even if you haven’t gone into the brawler class (as long as you have read the book that stops your sight from blurring). You regain stamina 40% faster, so you should keep them until you get that book

Like others have said that treasure map can be pretty sweet. I only do jobs now to get the crafting book bundles... the other rewards are so horrible. Want to know something scary? Running lvl 4s in the snow biome is so MUCH harder than the burnt biome. Good luck and keep your head up, bro!

The best melee weapon in the game is the stun baton please don't switch it to knives, those suck really hard + they buffed the hell out of zombies. With the stun baton, you can get a chance for instakilling zombies and stunning multiple zombies at a time. With the stun repulsor mod, they fly really far away, it's so fun.

For you, I'd say str clubs/shotguns or Int stun baton/books. Both use heavy armor, big help. Agi is strong if u know the POIs and where you can get away with sneaking and light/medium armor. Enjoy regardless!!

for this new update i would recommend sledgehammers since the zombies are now super tanky, But love your vids. Keep it up man.

Knifes are definitely good early game depending on what else you may get for drops. Bone knives are cheap, STA use is super low and attacks are fast. Plus the bleed DoT effect helps early game. Late game I think the most over powered is a sniper rifle with AP ammo. Create a long corridor, electric fences and just pop domes all night long. Every weapon I think has it's place. Stun Baton is really OP if spec'd into as well as it has great crowd control between stuns and a repulsor mod. I haven't played around enough to see if nerd gloves or priest gloves are better if running a baton as I believe the DMG % increase is the same. Nerd affects baton only though wherein priest gloves are an increase to all undead DMG.

I'm currently at the burnt forest biome as well. Been basing in the local police office and made a horde base at the front of Jen's. Quest rewards suck even getting the double perks make it seem not worth it.

little tip on how to get to tier 6 quests by day 3/4 all you need to do is fetch quests (ignore the main stash + the zombies). then once you get to tier 3 fetch quests you stick to that till tier 6. if there are no available fetch quests you log out and straight back into the server which refreshes the available quests.

Sledgehammers are the best mele weapon in my opinion… lvl up the skills for sledgehammers and you can easily 1 tap any zombie or atleast knock them down. Also place down doors or hatch’s so you can easily run behind them if you get outnumbered.

Sledges are good but however they are hard to get into as they consume a tone of stamina and have long time between swings and can sometimes be inconsistent in time to kill. So that’s why in early game which they have made longer in v1 and even mid game they just can’t compete with high attack speed weapons with dismember bonuses which proc per hit These flaws get more relevant the higher the difficulty of the game is as the hammer will hit someone and then the a zombie behind them hits you because it only clipped them

A thing about knives that I personally like is that they do bleed damage so like you could do 2 strong attacks and the bleed would be crazy, bone knife in my opinion is the best way you could survive early game and you could survive as its supper attack costs like no stamina and does tons of damage

3 comments about your insane difficulty settings and strategy. 1. Most people who play on insane set days to be longer (1 hour instead of 30 minutes) to offset the problem of not being able to get through the zombies in a timely manner. After all, if you start a quest and then it lasts until night you get fucked. Also, horde night lasts longer, which can net you more experience. 2. The spear has good reach, but it lacks knock down, which is really important for insane difficulty, since knocking a zombie down gives you time to recharge your stamina and gives you easy shots on their heads. Spear runs into problems with stamina management when night falls and zombies get faster. 3. Fetch quests are your friend. Just get the bag and run. Honestly, given that you are using the shorter day lengths, that is basically an extra level of difficulty. Both because it makes it harder to quest, and because your difficulty level scales with each passing day, while your loot drop scales with your level and the difficulty of area you are in.

@@maxkinder1951 Double loot but half days don't help you much, since questing is what is most important early game. Usually you'd have a bike on day 3, not day 11. Most of the loot you get is just garbage that weighs you down, rather than something useful, especially early game. It helps with mining and dismantling cars, but other than that, not really, and that is again not an early game thing. (Besides, mining twice as much but you have half the time to do it doesn't turn out even net neutral when you account for travel times) A lot of things that give books give 1 guaranteed, regardless of loot stage or double loot settings. So his tech isn't benefiting much either. Again, this is harder than the average insane difficulty.

Not necissarily. You can play the game on what ever difficulty you want and give yourself higher rates to make the game easier. They're just giving us the option to make it even harder :)
