Small mistakes in the fallback lines, you held the forest tile of Sedan ahead of the Meuse river when you said you wanted to fall back behind, frankly I think it was for the best, you also had 7 divisions just hanging out behind the frontline instead of at the front. Btw, another challenge I did myself recently that I think is pretty interesting is the area defense order only run (I played Germany and micromanaged my pre-war volunteers as normal, but after actually going to war I did area defense orders only). The difficulty of getting area defense divisions to efficiently attack or even defend territory is tricky. Edit: yeah, it was actually the city of Reims you were putting divisions on despite not being at the front.

Personally I always go for the alt democratic path. Going right side gives your leader some pp gain and the bonuses to industry on that side are pretty dang gud. I then go for the little entente because it’s just Buy Time but better, and finally once I’ve done ALL THAT I devalue the Franc.

But yeah every time divisions aren't in battle(under attack) they build up a planning bonus, that gives bonuses to battle, doesn't matter if attacking or defending. And the grand battle plan gives you like additional 30% planning in second research?
