Fun fact Huang's name in the first version of this game was Won, Ran's original name was Ann, Dudely's original name was Doug, Mugi's original name was Barley, Mei's original name was May, and Yu's original name was Stu. I think the name changes have to do with the fallout they had with the owners of the Harvest Moon series but not 100% on that.

I always though the name changes were a bit strange and wondered why they made the change at all. You're probably right, it's most likely for the same reason they changed from Harvest Moon to Story of Seasons :)

Yeah, full answer, these are their names in the original Japanese, when Natsume localized the original game they felt the need to Americanize the names, and when the big split happened and Natsume said they can't use anything that want a direct translation so even names are out

I just started a save also, this time i want to buy the mountain cottage, ocean house and the vacation house which i never got on the original 😂 this is my first game on gba. Not happy with the change of design of characters 😢 but still want to play it.
