15:25 Well, that argument only works well here because your run is essentially a starter solo run up to this point, and grass types don't get many attacking moves let alone good ones in gen 3. Plus, the other 2 still have coverage moves outside of their typings. Bulbasaur is rated highly because it's pretty good until you get past the 3rd gym, by which you have access to other pokemon that cover well for your pokemons weaknesses (grass type north of cerulean, fire type west of lavender, water type fished up at any water body) and the gift pokemon become open to you once you get access to celadon.

I don't think any PC build can run 12 instances of those emulators at the same time without major lag issues, maybe the 3DS ones but definitely not SS, it can be done with actual consoles but setting it up requires 12 monitors and 12 consoles at least so it's not really worth the hassle. I believe it has been already done with 2 games at the same time tho

@Walnut3562 жыл бұрын
I feel like this series would be a lot more interesting if there wasn't such a strong focus on keeping games in sync down to the exact battle and area. It essentially boils down to a "can you beat the game with just your starter" challenge more or less. The whole interest-factor of playing more than 1 game with the same inputs is when the games are out of sync and you manage to make progress on all of them anyway, but you never let that situation happen. Using your tricks to their fullest, you could (and often do) just played each game 1 at a time. It defeats the purpose of doing it in the first place. I think it also limits your progress in some ways, for example you could be grinding on screens that have already passed a gym battle, or catching pokemon while some are travelling. Even if you had to cut the number of total games by half to accomplish it, i think it'd be 10x more interesting. If the rules/spirit of the run don't change, I don't feel like any other game will be significantly different from the 2 you've already done.

So to answer the question of who is the best starter, Squirtle is great early game, Charmander is goat late game and Bulbasaur is the third grass type option
@turdosearthquake30712 жыл бұрын
Bulbasaur is best for a normal run but it’s status move heavy optimal use makes it pretty bad when paired with games with the other 2 especially considering bulbasaur runs really wanna rush to koga for substitute since it’s best used as a subseeder with leech seed sleep powder substitute and giga drain so the optimal pathing for bulba is slightly different. It’s also kinda slow when used properly but it does net the highest chance of winning the most tough fights especially considering it’s by far the most consistent vs evasion spammers since you just need 1 leech seed. Using bulbasaur requires a level of finesse that won’t happen here. Also it teaches players the importance of status moves early with it learning leech seed first of the level up moves and it being arguably its most important move at all points of the game where as other starters tend to encourage newbies bad habits of spamming attack moves when there’s other options that may be better.

awesome idea! also, about the "Venusaur is the best starter"... well, he KINDA is. in the very first game.The idea of a starter isn't doing a solo run, is to START a team. and having a strong pokemon that can carry the first 2 gyms and being decently strong against the 3rd and 4th one is pretty good, considering that the game wants you to have at least 4-5 pokemon by that time. Once you get to Blaine, the game gave you a bunch of free pokèmon that can learn surf, and also you could get nidoking, nidoqueen, an overleveled dugtrio, all of which can learn EQ At that point, venusaur should just be "one of the six" and not the Main Character of a Shonen manga. But yeah, i get your point, many take for granted that venusaur is the strongest starter just because he's the best at doing the starter job, which is literally to let you confortably start your team
