Right up there with ya man. Playing this game for the first time was an experience like no other. Having a Nintendo 64 when this game was released meant that you had a privileged childhood. The N64 was an amazing console, largely due to Zelda and so many other great games as well. The soundtrack alone evokes such a wonderful feeling within me, as I'm sure it does with the rest of you. I wish you all the best in your life journey.

This is a good thing to imagine. Back then they were working with a software that effectively looks like a bad version of Excel. They had to physically write notes, without being able to see them on a sheet music composition, so it looked something this for each note Dmaj*4(3rdOct)-2, and then the next note etc, just in a spreadsheet... The kind of stuff that Aphex Twin was working with for a decade before finally getting to help design better UI and synths. It was unbelievably complex, and on top of that every sound was manually edited via analogue consoles. So samples would be loaded into a physical sampler, and then edited to be unique and then sequenced onto a computer software using less than 25mb of memory. Then they had to master them all and compress them to file sizes small enough to keep the high quality and also take up almost no space, which to this day is still impressive because people would have to recreate the songs entirely to get the best quality, but they did so much amphetamine curtesy of the yakuza that 90s Japanese music from Jazz to Video Games is hands down the most complicated and vibe ridden creations ever put out. There had to have been gram after gram of amphetamines just shoved down like peanuts, absolutely no way that industry was sober, while Japan had no rave culture but the Yakuza somehow made hundreds of millions of dollars selling amphetamine in Japan 😅 Gotta respect the grind.
