Yes Alex has said she is very serious now about progressing at a much better place. She'll still do poker and Andrea will be the main force behind their social media channels, but I think she is aiming at that WGM title in the future. The average strength of this tournament it´s 2049. Anna it´s 2045 and 3.5/6 so she it´s playing slightly above her level. And her last game it´s against Linda Diaz (1956 and 7th, with just 1 point) so he can end with a good performance. But Alex(2017) it´s killing it.4.5/6 and second place it´s 2200+ performance.

“You look cool playing quick moves” is probably one of the reasons why this went badly. If you’re always looking at yourself from an outside perspective, how can you be really in the moment and do what drives you from your inner motivation? As someone who also had to learn this, I would recommend not being swayed so easily by other people(easier said than done, I know) and being firm and confident in your own playstyle. If you think you’re not confident in your playstyle right now, it’s probably not the one for you and that’s the reason you’re swayed. If you give yourself permission to explore different play styles without immediate judgement, maybe youll discover there is a style that fits that you wouldn’t have expected before.

Do you ever feel like most of your trust in yourself is in preparing before a move rather than in response to one? I don't know you but I teach (not chess) and I can see how you overthink and get in your own way. I know chess can be very different, and I truly don't know enough theory to comment with any authority but if you assign too much intent to your opponents moves and decisions, you're also making them a tougher opponent for yourself. Again, I say this as a chess amateur whose job it is to train and teach adults on a variety of different subjects. Best of luck, I always appreciate your videos and learn alot.

Time when used well is an extra piece. By now people know your greatest weakness is time control. Alex is a tactician, she had decided to put you throughout the match in time trouble. You have many matches where the outcome has been decided by this. As you well know lot of mistakes are made in time trouble. You could be the one putting the opponent in those tough spots and not the other way around ? I love the joy you feel from chess. And how graceful you are in defeat. Sometimes you say you want to improve a lot, other times it seems you are more into having good time around chess. If you really want to improve, hire coach ? Someone fitting your personality, more easy going type, make it fun while working openings and end-games. And yes you can train to become more conscious of your time management. You have great parents, and they can help, but if your serious you get someone from outside your family. Other suggestion - keeping it fun while learning. How about hiring known GMs to help you for a week at times. You pay the normal toll, possibly be their guest, make videos of you studying. Interesting chess content. If they are ok, then its positive exposure to them also. Your parents know many GMs. For example if Judith Polgar would take you for a week or weekend, that would be so interesting. She probably could help you and the material of you going through tactics together would be so interesting. Her mind is different, tactics are something special, you would love it. . Idea ? Oh and win over Nemo was quit something. Wow. Again your time.... But your so used to having that weighing on you that you still pulled through. She tried to do Alex on you, but it turned against her... Nonetheless you could make time your third knight, too often its your opponent who has this edge... Good luck to the last one. 🎉
@AnthonySouls3 ай бұрын
I agree with seeking a coach outside the family, too. I had the same idea in the live discussion. Outsiders give a unique outsider perspective, and I think that if you are working with someone new that's not family, you might train better because they aren't family.
