Recently someone in my match was complaining in All chat that "Gaijin nerfed the Gripen because no plane can be better than the Su-27". He was negative in the Gripen (and basically every other plane). He also accused me of supporting russian bias because my squadron tag is GOPNK. My palm went out the other side of my skull.

@@williewilson2250 The problem with the su27 is that it perfectly fits the meta of air rb, removing the numbers of the enemy team and having only 2 good players left against your entire horde of j11s and su27. The su27 isnt too hard to counter if your in a 1v1 situation and get lucky with his r73s getting flared. however the same cant be said for your team or you when you are distracted. the su27 is a very easy plane to get the numbers down on the enemy team and is very easy to get wins in the su27 because of this

My F-4S K/D finally went positive(I was in rank 7 already but needed it to grind SL/RP to clear the tree and Rank 8) since I bought it during the sale, but my win rate is like 20%. I feel like I win a slight majority of downtiers with it but the uptiers are 90% pure pain. Level 6 players buying their first jet and crashing immediately, etc.

I do this for 8.7-9.3 And it’s the most frustrating thing to be in a 1v5 for 1/2 the game and still lose because the remaining 6 or 7 enemies that aren’t up my exhaust, ended up killing all 11 of my teammates So I go from 1v5 to 1v3 to 1v8 or 9 So fun

Top tier is much much more about positioning and awareness than about your missles and flight preformance. The tactic you showed is pretty effective, but it can get countered by just a guy looking on the TWS/radar screen when flying into battle. That said, not many people do this.

the gripen is very brain dead. it feels so good to use but everytime i fly it for an extended period of time and then switch to something else i can how much it was letting me get away with bad habits/awareness and less planning because its flight model and amount of counter measures are so forgiving. im not complaining though lmao the previous best plane i had in my tree was the tornado f.3 which i had to use to grind the gripen, and its nice to be the one doing the stomping for once.

I do a similar thing with the Arado C3. Dive at the enemies as they are climbing right at the start and spot all of them long enough for your team to clean them up. I like to call it "climb disruption"

F-84B and G are also perfect for this, just from below. Shallow climb at 800+ kph straight into the enemy’s climb path. Usually good for one kill at the merge and then you bait 3-5 enemies out of their climb, making them easy prey for your team later. Aggressive Thunderjet is untouchable.

hi Defyn, i have been using a tactic with very high success. Basically, you take the su27 with the ETs, you go right like you do here and climb to just below the contrail altitude (5760m in normal maps, 5200 in volcano map), you can use the radar in TWS to track some people, at about 30km you can change to the IRST and it will see them, then you use the IRST to get the lock with the ETs and you can fire them from about 18km. At this point one of 2 things will happen, either nobody is locking you and you can keep going forward and eventually drop down and get 4 R73 kills; or someone will be locking you and shooting at you, in this case, you launch the 2 ETs and turn around and start chaffing and go low, braindead as all war thunder players they will keep chasing you and after a few seconds you will be at your closer airfield with just one guy on your ass ( the rest always turn for your team), your ETs will 95% of the time hit and net you 2 kills. Often you kill the guy that was locking you, sometimes not, in this case you just go low, drop all your speed and turn around for a cheeky 1.6km R73 launch which is impossible to dodge and flare headon. That is about it, give it a try, i m getting frequent 7 kill games and it is insane how easy this is. Nobody is expecting an ET so early in the match and from such a range they never see it coming and never flare, 18km is quite nutty for an IR missile.

there is another way to orbital strike you have to spawn in as soon as you can go across the map the fastest out of your entire team before you get to the enemy bases on the left side make sure there is no one in front of you pull straight up and turn right and then head over to enemy team when they are reaching about your bases dive on them and take out as many targets as you want

@@DEFYN I don't blame you if you're not gonna read all of this but I figured I'd still put it out there since it could still be useful feedback; More emphasis that you need to view through it to spot them, and that you need to keep doing so every now and then to maintain that spotting. Also what kind of information (like distance and vehicle type) is displayed to your teammates and how that helps them pick their opponents. Idk it kinda felt like the targeting pod part got a lil glossed over, I just think it needed more emphasis that you need to have it equipped and used frequently. This video revolves around the targeting pod but it plays less of a role in the video than you having COVID aim. Should also point out that other aircraft have targeting pods and can be played in a similar way as well. Also it feels like, despite it being a support feature, the video was more about how you use said feature to help yourself out, and less about how you use it to help teammates. It's just kinda ironic that the teamplay tactic, still comes off as a lone wolf strategy that's meant to benefit you the most. I think that's just due to your nature of your commentary style but still. Would've been bonus points if you had an example in there where you relied on somebody else or a squadmate doing the AWACS strategy and how that synergizes with you as a teammate. Or just a quick clip showing a teammate's perspective to seeing all the enemy names light up. Overall I think this is a really fun strategy that wasn't entirely done enough justice through this video. I liked the video but I still feel the need to criticize the structuring considering it's such a novel playstyle to me that deserves the spotlight. It felt like a normal gameplay video with the AWACS support concept simply strapped on with duct tape.

it's important to specify, I feel, that you shouldn't really climb above 5.1km or so when doing this. otherwise, the contrail you leave will give you away and you'll be slammed by an ER from 30km away. keep it as high as you can without a trail
