The Mirage 4000 sounds and looks like an absolute menace. IRL it was France that didn't have the financial means to purchase them that led to the project getting axed. That said, if you look at the current modern day Rafale, you'll see a ton of design elements carried over from the Mirage 4000 on it.

In my play time with the 4000 so far, I feel like it is let down by its missiles, much as Defyn noted. I spend most of my time dodging the longer range missiles of every other nation, and by the time I get an opportunity to fire my own, everything has been cleaned up by my team. I spend most of the fight just watching everything die. The SARH missiles have always been a gimmick for France. They are easy to chaff, and they'll likely miss anyway. It's fantastic at getting guns on target, but I think it takes more than that to qualify for 12.3 BR.

SARH missiles almost never hit anyway because everybody flies low to the ground and you can only shoot at one target at a time. With this crazy matchmaker you usually have less than a minute to launch all your missiles before u are shot down.

mirage 4000 fuel hardly burns through fuel. 20 minutes is more than efficent, even in a simulator map. Ive never had any issues with bringing only 20 minutes of fuel and afterburning the whole time

you can pick up something on your radar from further away when you use pd hdn, but only if theyre moving towards you (hdn is head-on) but honestly it doesnt even matter you can just use pd and not change anything

PD is generally better for War Thunder since combat ranges are less, the HDN mode is easier to notch but can detect targets farther away.

Bit disappointing of a video. Defyn is quick to say that: Magic 2 has a 1.8 arm time fuze delay, but this is not mentioned for the AIM-9M on the F-15's video which now has an arm fuze time of 1.8 seconds. He completely omits that it's a dogfighting monster that would destroy the SU-27 and F-15. Defyn also forgets to say that the M4K unlike the F-15/Su-27 carries large caliber flares which absolutely helps with IRCCM missiles. Further, he doesn't say that the M4K can carry 8 IR missiles in an IR meta unlike the F-15 which can only carry 4.

To be fair, you talked about pre flaring to much, but thanks to how efficient large caliber CM are, you don’t really need to pre flare in this plane. Pop 1, 2 flares, and pretty much everything goes for them, including magic 2 or r73 at relatively close ranges

I have this plane full for now over a week and I still don't figure how to play it. I'm a great fan of Mirage 2000 with in average 800 kills for 200 deaths. In Mirage 4000 ? I'm equal. All people focus me, this thing is a brick compared to the 2000. Also, people tend to focus you: very frustrating.

Some outdated info: -Gripen don't have 500+ ammo anymore, but 120. -Magic2 are always open to changes (50G, better IRCCM, range..) but the things about the 1.8s delay is that now some sidewinder have delay too. You are quick to talk a lot about Magic2 delay here and how it's bad, but it's funny how on your last F-15 video you didn't talk about the fact that AIM-9M and AIM-9L both have now 1.8 seconds fuze delay, exactly same as Magic 2. Welcome to the club, hope you gonna enjoy your stay ^^ -About the CMs, you didn't mention that M4K has large caliber flares to help deal with all the missiles with IRCCM while F-15/Gripen only have small caliber flares. -About the CMs number, the number is still open to buff, Gaijin is aware but not gonna make change till they rework CM management (soon i hope). The real CM number for the M4K should be 114 large flare and 336 chaffs.
