Started the game 4 days ago. best thing to do is just lay low and get your animal as big as possible. Build up your stat points. start double stacking points in attack points and health/stam. start trying to build up inheritance points. Once I got the hang of the game. It accidently became one of my favorite games lately lol. Also, shedding gets rid of bleeding lol.

Adding as I go.... Puking makes your snake move faster for a certain amount of time shown in the top left screen, which you can add to with the frenzy talent. Shrines are useful for buffs and reincarnations...notably if you take a power (red) or survival (blue) shrine "trinket" item to a speed (green) shrine you get a growth buff at the cost of food. The other shrines also have buffs but theyre less important. That wein mixpacked you during combat, which is a reportable offense on official servers. The forcefield was an event zone! Events happen every 2 hours, and offer various buffs for attending, which you can see in the top left. Coah (the trike) is kinda a rex counter, although you can kill them by assriding if youre careful. The Nimble talent is pretty vital on apexes like acro and rex due to their poor turn rate, crouching also improves turn rate, and most creatures can jump turn. A massive amount of eggs is usually mutation hunters, they generally wont offer eggs bc theyre special eggs with buffs made to get mutations by spamming eggs. This game is hard. Harder than the isle, cant speak for PoT because I havent played it. It has so many mechanics. So dont feel bad for dying alot! Rav has some great guide videos for specific playables, and watching bob youtubers like Chimkin play is a great way to pick up combat basics. PoT is generally much easier given that if you die, you only lose around half your growth. The only issue is painfully slow growth on officials, though, nobody plays officials.

If you can learn the systems and embrace the jank, there is a pretty banger of a game in here. An extremely varied selection of playables, with varying play styles within those themselves, can lead to a great time when you find your niche in this ecosystem. The snake insanity will die out soon and the islands will return to balance.

I love bob, it’s (relatively) easy to grow, and I only have around 20 hrs, which is kinda a lot but this game is pretty complex. The icons you see usually means a group. Solo players usually don’t create icons.

A few tips as snake (land) right click to coil and take less damage while still able to strike, puking gives a speed boost in case you need to run away or catch something running. Shedding skin stops bleeding. Also when coiled you can spit to drain enemy AP making it where it doesn't recover so they can't attack back as well

Ok so shrines are mostly used for blessings there is red(combat), green(mobility), and blue(survival) if you interact with a shrine it gives you a few options if you take a trinket you can deliver that trikent to a different color of shrine for a blessing. combat blessing reduces the cost of resurrection after death and you lose less growth when resurrecting, mobility blessing is the most used in the game and it increases the rate at witch you grow by a lot, lastly the survival blessing is for nesting and gives offspring better inherits and chances for mutations also vomiting as a snake activates your frenzy which increases your speed and it can be improved with talent points in the frenzy talent in the mobility relent tree and the ready to run talent in the survival talent tree.

welcome to bob lol something i was taught early on as well was builds, there's two main ones, a speed/combat build & a combat/survival. as each name mentions, you'd typically build off if you're solo and learning, confident in your skills solo or with a group type deal. for turning tight, you'd wanna build nimble, one of your 1.0 skills in speed tree. In gauntlet, the mode you were playing here, growth comes quick then points slow down after a while. you could do a tri-build on most things to kinda play balanced, 2/3 most things, like nimble for turning fast enough to get things off your ass and scavenger? I can't remember if that's what the skill is called still but it helps you gain more satiation from gores and even bad ones if you build enough on it. a god send on the dinos once you're crossed your 2.0+ threshold. that skill should be in the survival aspect of the tree. there's also an auto-revive option, whereas you play whatever dino you spawn or get nested in on and can full send into things to learn the basics or even polish your dino skills lol. Some communities are out there to join still though each have their rules and whatnot but definitely not a bad place to start. Only downside is your growth would be alot slower compared to Gauntlet. another thing, these damn snakes are a pain if they manage to stack venom on you, you'll notice your ap & stam don't regen, it's bc of that. once your screen goes purple, best imo to be careful with how you use your abilities til one of them gets bold enough to rush in and you can still finish em off with a couple bites (given you have the ap) bc they're still squishy despite their op ability :D

One of the best things you can do really as a starter is to join a herd /you can find a herd by tabbing and going to the third option aka group finder and if you see a lot of herbivore icons together that's probably a herd (any herbivore but mind you the coah/trike/ and paggy is omni) stay with the group and figure out the game through the help of the other people, I find a lot of bob players dont mind helping others figure out how to play ^^ also you'll die a little less due to being able to be defended by other group mates (it is likely they'll teach you combat tricks too) I hope to see more bob content (and hope to see you enjoying the game more) !!! (follow up rq, if your dino is below 0.700 you can be summoned to your group members /you can ask someone to summon you in chat or requesting it in the group tab /2nd option/) it'll save you a lot of pain of traveling to your group

Bob is much more harder than other games imo. The skilltree is the most important thing and what skills you inherit. You randomly inherit some abilities, but by nesting from good skilled parents or constantly being re-born with reincarnation process you slowly increase your skill tree points. It was long time when I last played, but back then there was some quests you do to boost what tree branch abilities you inherit with reincarnation - speed- battle or survival branch. Quests like visit shrines, visit all bioms, sniff all dino species ext.

Gonna have to disagree with that beginning statement. I play the isle, pot, bob, u name it. And i can easily say the isle evrima is by far harder than any other dino survival game. And even for me evrima isnt rlly that hard tbh. But BOB is easily top 2 easiest dino games to survive in. In match with pot. I only got BOB for snake and it is great. Good game, wish the graphics were better and wish the mobility was better but overall a great game specifically making it stand out based off its skill tree, over eating and infinite growth. But please never again state this game is hard lol i play all day when i have time and this game is childs play. Even the randos i play with act like it is. I play official idk abt community.

I do agree that BASIC SURVIVAL like finding food and water and not fall from cliffs is harder in Isle, but skills level to fight is more easier in Isle imo. In Isle atm all players are in same level. Full adult carno vs full adult carno fight is even and winner is skill based. You can also hide easier and run away on Isle when sniff dosent show you as bright color neon light target. In Bob you never know what skills or inherits player have + infinite growth and you end up getting killed more in Bob. Altho i am interested to see how mutations effects to Isle skillgabs

there are alot of diffrent systems to keep in mind in beasts of bermuda. Theres the talent tree the comfort system the weather system and the fact that each and every single creature has its own specific abilities and skill sets. so if you go in like its the isle you'll probably get boddied XD but if you can figure out the systems, personally out of the big 3 dinosaur games, this ones my fave :3 each of the critters has various counters, for instance ive found something agile and fast works pretty decently against snakes. ive had some success with the whein as its bulkier than a raptor but still has a nice jump and turn to get out of the way of those bites. and yet at the same time, pretty much everything can take on anything else depending on how you build it. you can get clues to how the other dino is built by sniffing and holding the reticle over them, as it will highlight them in the color that matches their highest tree, and will give you a little flavor text to give you a hint on what those talents are. the fact that your still learning showed through a bit. that appato you fought, the long necked dino, should have tail whipped you, but he must have been new too x3 you really dont want to approch them from behind O.o and that pink glow when you went up against that thing that roared at you, the acro, ment that it had inflicted a debuff on you, that brought your damage way down. i havnt had much luck escaping aquatics as an aquatic, but many of them have this sense that allows them to see you highlighted when moving if they sniff, so you'll want to run, hide, and stay absolutely still. unfortunately that was a Krono, and they specialize in dealing injury damage slowing you down majorly, and i beleive are supposed to counter mosas though there has been some debate there. little stuff like that will play a big role in how you do in beasts of bermuda. over all, hope you enjoy the game, and i wish you the best :D oh and yeah, Never mess with the Coahs XD those trike looking things, they have insane intimidate, bleed and are only vulnerable from behind. their face is like a shield with long reaching spears on it, so you'll want alot of size and something quick before you take that on. theyre also omnivores so they actually have a reason to attack you XD so keep youre distance unless you can handle them. also shrine are an importaint aspect of the reincarnation system wich is a more indepth system for getting a stronger dino in your next run. the blessing system is what you want to really pay attention to though if you want to grow fast. by takeing a trinket from a shrine to a diffrent type of shrine, you can activate a blessing. the one you want for quick growth is the mobility (green) shrine. but be careful! you'll grow more quickly, but you'll burn up food and water faster too!

as a terrestrial paleo ur main thing is ur speed and coiling (right click) to spit venom and blind ur enemies, while also taking slightly reduced damage and putting out slightly higher damage, the semi aquatic has a bit more health and damage than a terrestrial but its coil doesnt reduce incoming damage and its venom spit doesnt have nearly as much range nor does the blinding effect last as long, and ofc theyre slower on land. finally the aquatic paleo is 30% larger at all times than the other 2, has significantly more health weight and damage as well as an elusive ability, however theyre extremely slow and vulnerable on land, without decent skill the aquatic is still probably ur best bet thou unless u just want to scavenge as the terra, but most of the playerbase agrees the semi is the weakest of the bunch, "jack of all trades but master of none"

I got about 5k hrs in the game since release but dont play anymore due to the change into a toxicity fueled community.ur most important thing on community servers is to get a good egg(minimum 24inherits) but if u plan on playing official ur main priority is speccin into survival so u can keep fed easier and have to go out for food less.its wildly different from the isle tho as in the dino with better inherits/bigger growth will win 9x outta 10

Ahhh what it is to be a noob again. This games skill system inherits and for all practical purposes infinite growth (getting to 10.0 is insane and some servers have way more than that) the skin hunting you can do to in my opinion makes it better than the isle. But if im wanting a more "realistic" dino experience yeah definetly gotta go to the isle. Path of titans controls are cool but having to go do all those tedious ass missions to grow and most cool lookin dinos are lunch boxes lol.

I stopped playing Bob ages ago they were just way too slow with content updates and the stuff they did add was just very lackluster like i water months for them to add something interesting to the game only for it to be a trex remodel and it was at that point I deleted the game and left the discord and now I stay with the isle cuz while it has its issues it’s still the best and as for pot that game just seems meh
