Dawn of War is arguably the greatest warhammer video game of all time and along with Lord of the Rings, is one of the biggest influences on my relationship with Warhammer, and all things tabletop wargaming. It was the spark that lit the inferno which became my teenage Warhammer 40k obsession, as soon as I was immersed within the hobby I wanted to bring this game to life on the table. I made several attempts as a teen, inspired by a mid 2000’s White Dwarf article, and I actually planned to launch this project in 2018 but got distracted by Middle Earth but with Games Workshop currently cranking up the Nostalgia for early Warhammer 40k, I cannot resist any longer.

Finally playing a game of "Dawn of War" I thought about writing a message for a long time, but I got some information that could be helpful for later games. The manufacturer of the STL files "Warscenery" recently ran a campaign on Kickstarter to produce the Aeldari buildings for Dawn of War games. This campaign was very successful, and as a result you may already be able to buy the buildings as files and perhaps experience Aeldari in a game report soon. But either way, I look forward to every new game.

Love this stuff! Rules wise, i feel like the deep strike needs to either take a turn to 'charge', be outside of 9" like normal deep strike or have some penalty for deep striking closer like can either shoot or charge. I know DoW doesnt have those restrictions but feel like it might be too strong otherwise to get guaranteed max output instantly out of a strong unit like termies

We've chosen to keep it closer to the original game in the way it operates and to balance it make sure each faction has the ability to do it or counter it :)

What I really like about these battle reports is they are watchable time and again. Always the question is what would I do differently with my resource spend as that is a fluid option that can change how the battle goes rather than just having a fixed list from the outset.

Primaris is the most recently added faction, and we haven't seenChaos yet either since they were added :) but I'm limited to what I have available model wise. But mI'd love to get both Eldar and Tau on the table sometime too love them both!

I was curious how you planned to incorporate primaris into the game back when I watched your first dawn of war video. Making them their own faction was a creative and ingenious decision. That demon prince seems absurdly powerful... how much did it cost points-wise?

It's a shitload of resources to make it happen, have to spend research time and costs, and then there's a big layout when you actually purchase him, but his ability to just pop up right in the heat of battle is a real advantages Chaos have :) I think it's 510R 330P once you've bought the Lord, Upgraded the Sacrificial Circle, Researched the Technology and then paid for the Prince.
