Alright so advice: 1. Finish Gowry's quest and kill him to get the Flock's Canvas Talisman that boosts incants by 8% 2. Use the Finger Seal till level 30 then use Godslayer till level 70, at level 70 switch to Erdtree Seal 3. Use the Dragoncrest Talismans for physical resist 4. Get Pest-Thread Spears for a better more solid NUT.

Finally I get to see how this game was meant to be played! I've spent countless runs doing it wrong so I can't wait to see how Hidetaka Miyazaki intended this game to be experienced!! Edit: Honestly, congrats on getting as far as you have with the "one handed" goon playstyle of white, sticky threads A note to how pest threads work, and subsequently how to make them more effective. As you have gathered during your playtime so far, pest threads is a spell meant to be used in close combat as it doesn't have much range and has HEAVY damage falloff with what range it does have. Pest thread spears are better at the range game but even they fit best at mid-close range still. As for buffing the damage as much as you can, Golden vow (you can swap this out for the buff that stormhawk Deeha gives if you want to add a summon to your side!), flame grant me strength, the jelly shield, flocks talisman, upgraded faith + casting tool, ritual sword/Red-Feathered Branchsword talisman, blue dancer charm. All of those will buff the damage. You'll hate to hear this but melina's great rune goes kinda well with this spell due to how many times it can hit which all count for the health ticks last I recall. I would make a suggestion to put the jelly shield in your main hand and your casting tool in the off hand so you don't have to two hand to use its buff as you can cast as normal with your off hand. Some other gear and talismans that I would suggest for the sake of your sanity would be the FP dew talisman from the DLC, the incantation scarab hat, and the primal glintstone blade. Your health is going to suck major ass but these can help stretch out the uses of your blue flasks if needed! Bit off topic but if you like that way of killing Commander O'Neil then you might like the spell night maiden's mist. It doesn't scale off anything and does fixed damage so you don't need to build anything around it but it does make a decent sized "fuck you" cloud that eats away health pretty nicely for not that much of a cost! Also, godspeed to you Kryptix if you do decide to keep going with this o7

Given the great rune I mentioned AND the nutty amount of faith you'd have to continue pursuing such a build you'd also have access to the really strong Regen spells too. Mixed with the great rune and some decent skill sprinkled in you may very well become what I shall deem the playstyle of the "Everlasting coomer". Because ultimately, as long as you are still standing despite all their attacks you can still coom. Not even god could stop you at that point!

Idk if youll see this but I uave two points of advice for this move 1. It does physical damage, so blue dancer talisman is REALLY good for it 2. It is able to hit multiple tines at closer range, which is why its so good for larger enemies like dragons cause you can stand behind them and hit them a whole bunch

I know lots of comments have given suggestions for increasing damage, but just to explain why it's doing such terrible damage early game: Enemies have both flat damage reduction and percentage damage reduction in their defenses. Because Pest Threads shoots a ton of tiny hits, every single projectile is getting reduced by their flat defenses minimizing the damage. As soon as you raise your damage per projectile high enough for each individual thread to do more than their flat defenses you'll see massive damage increases, which is where it becomes an insanely powerful spell. Grab the godslayer seal, upgrade it, and pump faith and you should start seeing big returns relatively quickly (or erdtree seal if you go above like 70 faith) It also has huge damage falloff at range as you've already noticed, doing much more at close range. But since it's a physical projectile incantation the effective range is actually also affected by the Arrow's Reach talisman - equip that and you'll be able to massively extend the range at which the threads will still do full damage before it falls off.

Multi projectile spells start with non existant damage(i remember doing 50 damage to a scarab with just enough faith to use it) but once you get past 60 faith and have a good seal it becomes a giant killer and around 1k damage per cast

advice but i'm sure you have already heard this one so LISTEN: get miliscent's prosthesis and winged sword insignia, as well as the consecutive attack physick when you can. also I believe that the green crystal staff's buff (can't remember the name) works with incantations too so hold it in your offhand possibly. maybe flock canvas talisman as well and it becomes a much more solid build. also it is worth noting that you found out that this talisman does more damage close up and then refrained from taking advantage of that anyways. I suggest not as you lose damage every meter. the big stagger/big damage all comes from the combination of consecutive attack talismans and close range because individual threads hit more than once. it also works better against big enemies, same as spiral shard.

okay for tips. If you want to use the threads you really need to level your catalyst and the attribute of it, plus the min requirement. i enjoyed using the dragon communion seal with it and leveling arcane. it's amazing on huge enemies, because if you stay close they can return and hit twice. it doesn't do posture damage tho, just hp damage. Yet, why need to break stance if you can just kill them in seconds?

Here's some tips: The blue dancer charm boosts all damage at light equip load Red feather branch sword boosts attack by 20% at 20% health but if that's too risky, use ritual sword talisman Get faithful canvas and flocks canvas for a total of 12% boost to infants Get howl of shabriri as it boosts attack by 25% and lasts 40sec instead of FGMS's 20% boost and 30 sec time Since it deals physical damage get the bloodboil aromatic as it boosts physical damage by 30% and lasts 60sec BUT its limited Get braggarts roar and put it on a offhand weapon as it boosts attack and defense by 10% and stamina regeneration for 60sec. All of that should give you good damage

to compound on this, unlike the one in Consecrated Snow fields, you only have to light one spot to open the way to the church - the one closest to that seal. The others open the chests and the boss area.
