if you're skilled enough you can fight any skill tree, the reason why ppls say speed/hakuda is boosted is cuz it literally takes no skill, tell any newbie to get speed build give him 2 SB's and teach them the basic speed combo and i guarantee you that they will reach gold rank within a day because its easy to use

i've been playing arrancar kendo since re-release and i can definitely say that people recently have just been hopping on kendo, spamming, and then it works somehow i like the game its just that people just press 1 2 3 4 5 and the rest of their hotbar and it works

the whole issue with kendo is how close you have to get to land attacks, speed and hakuda can just tp to you, and shori does half a bar. if i were to call something op right now then it would be hakuda because the entire moveset is undodgable

problem with hakuda is people that can actually parry make the kit very hard to use. also it’s actually pretty hard to get people into the air. alth most moves being undodgable gives counterplay a learning curve. but trust, it’s not as strong as it seems unless the player is very very good

@@Fyreiiu and again you can do the same with most other trees and if anything running hakuda especially with charged variant makes it even easier. If you ever get hit with the x on fire shikai you have enough priority to use negation and make the move used on you your own combo entirely, but that example was more of a fun fact on how bad that shikai can be if anything. An actual easy hakuda takeover is using death flair when specter stepped and it stuns long enough to land catching dragon after. Or every time you counter with negation it’s a guaranteed shori if they refuse to throw out a random hyperarmor move in neutral, while no other counter has any type of confirm (aside from theater but the shikai as a whole is kinda… bad)

If you go against qkido just give up but arrancar kido is easier to fight, block bala barrage and bala gum and try to bait out a cero scourge and you are usually good to go

Honestly, I struggle to use Vertical Down and Split Gate as a Kendo user. I usually stick to the other moves, and its been working fine as of now. True Pierce combo is really hard to hit in general unless you guardbreak on Vertical Down. Am I doing something wrong by playing without the main Kendo mechanic? I don't really know.

I would try to run vertical down split gate, even if you dont land it, you can horizon core if you land one and get a free bar
