As a massive Drum n Bass fan who stumbled into your set at HI last week and never left the dancefloor Ill be looking for your sets! Really enjoyed the ibiza sunset mix to get over the holiday blues. Big fan now!

Drum and bass in the UK right now is having another massive peak, at reading festival this year, there was a LOT of drum and bass and it was proper going off, at the chevron stage, in the jager tent, everywhere. The dnb scene is smashing it right now
@AlexC113422 ай бұрын
Reading fest is not the key indicator whether a genre is successful or not 😭😭
@AlexC113422 ай бұрын
The average age of reading festival is 16-18 . Most of them aren’t over 18 and can’t even go to raves 😭😭
@knownasgar71222 ай бұрын
@AlexC11342 yeah no shit, I'm just saying, it was a heavy feature this year and in previous years, not so much. It was very noticeable that the crowds loving it were way more prevalent than those near the Pepsi tower where the more house based music was getting played.
@knownasgar71222 ай бұрын
@AlexC11342 well I'm 44 and have been multiple times and there was a LOT of older people there. maybe 50/50 with the younger lot so I'm not sure where that stat comes from. I'd also argue that the majority of the crowd watching Harry Shotter and Molly Collins in the Jager tent were mid twentys up. I have footage of that too. I've been listening to jungle/dnb since 1990. I'm not new to this and I've seen the highs and lows of its popularity.

The change in bpm makes a lot of sense. People nowadays are used to what you play and when you add some new stuff, you tease them a bit and release a surprise (d&b) that shows the well-versed you are as a DJ and producer. I like the mix of house and D&B. There is no limit to music.

Much to crowed on the Dance Floor at the Bootshaus. If someone would pass out or something it would be impossible to bring help or get him out of the area. That must be changed! Great set. The drum & bass part was not mine. But in total real DJ Art. To see you at work was a great pleasure for the ears! Next time again, but on one of the sides and not on the Dance Floor.

Good for you James. Never be scared of using different genres, it’s what makes the dance industry fresh. Carl Cox has been doing this all his career and when I was DJing I never stuck to one genre either. Really love your style of mixing, so different from everyone else in your transitions. BTW I’d love to see what you could do with Outlander’s Vamp. One of the best riffs ever.

I've been playing DNB for about 20 years. I find it hard to identify myself as a DJ when switching genres for different events, but I just love it. Most of my sets are bass and tech house or melodic and indie, But I'm preparing a DNB set for Halloween that is sick.

Your James Hype. Your not going to kill the vibe. Your a real DJ. I think it's good that your branching out into other genres. I don't produce music in only one genre. I produce music in whatever I'm feeling at the moment. There is no rule that says you have to be boxed in to one specific genre.

honestly most of the time I don't even know why I'm here bc I don't really enjoy your music nor the rest of the music you play in your sets (which is simply a personal taste issue obvsly), but I love the fact that you share what you do with us, which is mainly why I follow you anyway but this track you tried is sick and caught me instantly, I'd encourage you to keep going down these roads more often

That’s wicked that you played DnB. I’ve anyways been keen to see some of my favourite djs just play a set of epic tunes (of any genre), rather than only the specific genre we know them for! Props to you for that! 💪🏻
