This AI has been completely revamped and it makes this game feel and flow beautifully. The AI no longer has a negative IQ, and they are capable of hitting shots. The game feels amazing and I am loving the balance

I disagree when you said that good 2k players don't play play now online, it's a fun mode especially player control, I wish they brought back all star team up publicly, that's way more fun to me than grinding imo, but there are a lot of bad players that play that mode too (I guess the same goes for rec etc tho)

I’m glad 2k is good again this is the most fun I have had with a 2K since 16 and it brings me back to when 2k cared about the game yes bad patches will come but overall I think that the my league and the Jordan challenges are enough to make this one of my better 2ks so far

I feel the same exact way this is most fun i’ve had since 19 and before that 17 but all of the changes that have been made are working their favor, like Dom said with the park environments I’ve noticed it a great amount how much it brings me back to being in the 16,17 parks like with being Rivet City or the Ballers.

I play as a big and one of the things I love the most about this one is a 6'4 guy isnt going to block my shot when I back him down. It really makes them pay for messing up their assignments in the Rec. Also you can get a better feel for whether or not you should take the shot or pass with the new body animations.

I’m also going on a trip tomorrow so I feel you and I also noticed and loved the rim reacting to the ball missing. It’s beautiful to see and adds so much immersion.

I still think the defense around the rim is incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes I am able to teleport block the most ridiculous shots I shouldn’t even be able to contest, let alone block. Other times people will jump through me and get uncontested layups when I am smothering them. It is because this game is EXTREMELY animation dependent, even more so than prior years, but it doesn’t play that well. However, it FEELS really fluid. Its really fun to experience the fluidity, so I think a lot of trash kids are enjoying it so far. I also think the shooting feels really janky is completely release dependent. Shooting rating barely matters. Bad shooters with good releases can easily outshoot amazing shooters with difficult releases. If you don’t green, its an auto miss.

Coming from a strictly myplayer gamer to now playing rec and park with my friends my biggest adjustment has been the level of Comp in this game! The guys who are good compared to the bad or average players is mind bowing,to see how deep the skill gap is crazy

I had to stop spamming R2 on current Gen, it allows me to play more fluidly instead of running my MyPlayer out of breath constantly. That’s what I like in 2k23 Current Gen, and of course the two takeovers.

I haven't played since 19 but I just picked this up yesterday and started playing on PS5 and I think it's pretty good. One thing that is super impressive is the sound though. I have a sound bar with a pretty powerful sub in my living room and playing this game with that set-up is awesome. It really feels like you're at a live event.

As someone who's taken essentially a 5-year hiatus from the franchise, I can say that the game has improved. However, the improvements aren't nearly compelling enough considering my time away. I really like The W added game mode and it's where I spend most of my time playing with my created player. The grind in MyPlayer is too and I don't plan to spend any money on VC to improve my character. The W has the perfect balance for building a new character without making it feel like I have to open my wallet to actually enjoy the game. The A.I. is better, but as someone who has barely touched the franchise since 2018, It still feels like there is a long way to go. Quit passing me the ball with 2-3 seconds on the shot clock. It's also weird how I'm dinged for attempting a "bad shot" which is wide open, but the CPU can take ridiculously contested shots with no problem. There also feels like there is a delay in me pressing the button and my character reacting to that feedback. I can see a pass coming from a mile away and will go for the steal, only for my character to react 2 seconds later. Or when I'm going for a block and rebound and my character is incredibly slow to move towards that action. It's very awkward and frustrating, however, it does feel as playing defense is significantly less animation based than previously. My last gripe is how I have to fight with the CPU to run the P&R effectively. They still haven't gotten it right all these years. Sometimes it can take 5-10 seconds to get the CPU to set the screen properly. Overall, the game is solid. Doesn't really feel like franchise has made any truly substantial leaps in the years I've been gone. I don't see myself spending countless hours into the online modes I used to frequent. The enthusiasm to play those game modes just isn't there any longer. MyPlayer is still cringe despite some of the changes they've made. I'll rather just create a character, give him all the tools I wan, and start a new career that way. Saves all the grinding and obviously microtransactions that purposely stall the progression. In the meantime, Michaela Jordan is about to take the WNBA by storm.

Same here. I played 2k18, played a couple months on 2k19 less frequently because it seemed too similar, went back to 2k18 after I hit a 99, and played 18 until the servers went off. I got 2k20 late and barely played. Spent about an hour on 2k21, and about 30 minutes on 2k22's myplayer mode. I'd still play 18 if the servers were online. Took forever to get to 99, and I was used to the play. Grinding on these new releases just to repeat the same experience isn't worth it. At some point, maybe the next gen will revamp the whole thing. Whether that's next year or in 5 years, that's when I'll check back in. Until then, I'll just wait until it's free on gamepass or $5 somewhere else, and then I'll run a myleague in search for that elusive perfect season.

I said the same thing even the historical teams play like themselves and not some generic player that resembles them. I played with lakers with Eddie Jones and nick vanexel and I was cooking them. I felt like in the past these players didn't play like themselves outside of Shaq and kobe. Would be nice next year if they did a greatest game moment for each team and see if you could replicate the stats of that particular game.

I've enjoyed current gen so far and I consider my build to be trash lol. I focused mostly on my physicals as a 6'6 SF but with a 86 mid and 3. Basically im spot up shooter that can rebound but I use shot creating take to be as versatile as possible. I've seen a lot of people say the builder is limiting but I've felt like I have infinite possibilities and quite frankly havent had this much fun on a 2k game since 2k15

As a casual I still can't truly enjoy the shooting. I know, for the 2k skilled player, greening is a must and makes sense. Though that takes time and practice and repatriation. For me, I just play 2k for a time kill but never seriously. Being able to hit whites gave me some hope when my teammates were pretty much carrying me. I hope they give us SOME leniency there.

I played around 13 hours so far and I can definitely feel a difference between this year and last. I like how smaller players shoot faster in the paint if they are wide open, last year a lot of times they would just take their time with shots and get blocked or contested. I'm satisfied so far.
