How should runick be played here? New to yugioh obviously hugin, tip and fountain need to be there but is there decklists on MDM worth playing over pure Ice Barrier?

Ice Barriers are the one stun strategy I unironically enjoy playing. A lot of fun to see the moving parts come together, even if a single disruption can occasionally end your whole turn.

You should play Spellbreaker of the Ice Barrier. She completey locks spells for 2 turns, that card alone is a death sentence for a lot of decks. The downside is that you have to summon her in your turn, but it's super easy to do and totally worth it in my opinion. Completely protects from dark ruler, raigeki, droplet and all other nasty spells.

Could just run warlock of the ice barrier. Not only can you drop him on the opponent's turn, you don't have to invest another discard in a deck that can already run out of resources fast. Warlock is something of a necessary evil in a format with Snake Eyes running around, since the snake-eyes spell that pushes a monster into the backrow can defang your entire turn.

@@lancerguy3667 if he has droplet or dark ruler then you can't do anything though. And you don't need to discard anything with spellbreaker, you can just banish revealer from the grave

​@@Finalras exactly, and there is a way in almost every combo to slip one Spellbreaker in the final end board. I really recommend the combo guide uploaded in SuperNix channel, it cover all the variants with all the Ice Barrier starters and most includes Spellbreaker.

I’ve enjoyed Ice Barrier more than I thought I would. I’m currently playing it with Centurion. I’ve also experimented with Snake Eyes and it works too.

@@panblu Works just fine. I haven’t played it much online, but as long as you play your cards in the right sequence you can avoid locks from either engine and make a decent board. Crimson Dragon gives you an option to tag out synchro at will for the Ice Barrier dragon synchros.

General Wayne and warlock I run as well. Wayne can stop activated effects of spells and trap cards in the graveyard because it banishes them instead. Warlock is anti spell fragrance on legs.

Armageddon Knight can only send a Dark monster to the grave so he wasn’t gonna send Suijin to make Gate Guardian combined. I believe the strategy is to send Destrudo to use it with Armageddon Knight to make Ancient Fairy Dragon

It's probably good enough as long as it remains heavily ignored. But the play lines are easy to see coming if you've EVER seen this deck in action, though not every deck is built to play around its interactions so you might still have issues against it depending on what you're on.

That was just poor play by the Exosister player in the first duel. Sure, they were very likely to lose the duel overall, but the deck had the out to Lancea there in the form of Asophiel. The players who don't know their own deck well just default to always summoning Mikailis. Asophiel returns cards to the hand, which would have not triggered Lancea's effect. Mikalias was a poor choice as well since she couldn't search and couldn't get over Croco either.

You think so? i fell that IB lacks EXTENDERS to the point of relying into Icejade, white fish, runick fusion, magician's souls... If you get revealer/Hex/mirror mage negated/banished and dont have georgious/speaker in hand, that's the end. If has great first turn with hand traps, but without good hand traps the second turn is mid (not 100% terrible because still there some special summons during opponent turn, and superpolymerization triggers Lancea float effect). Pure ice barrier is terrible for second turn. Mirror mage does 70% what the deck needs, search from deck (and banishment, which is cool!), control your monsters for level and tokens for synchro. The lack in other 30% is that it locks into water synchro, doesnt search from graveyard and inst a extender. It does much for the deck, but relying into it is dangerous, makes the deck linear, and stopped by just ONE called by the grave. The deck needs recovery from grave, extenders that doesnt rely on presence in the board (like speaker and georgious), the current meta banishes with S:P link-2 or even destroys without triggering effects, you cannot do anything, the Ice barrier is previsible at this point. Would be nice if they create synchros that do improvement to Gungnir and Brionac, not variants that doesnt correlate to "ice barrier" in name, as they doesnt help in effects from the supports. Would be of interest effect like "during the mainphase, special summon from grave/Extra deck one icebarrier monster, to give justice to the spell/traps that needs 3 synchros in the field to apply their effects at full extent.... I think the actual floodgate for Ice barrier are already powerfull, arent they?
