As a Masters Ball player (probably one of ten remaining ball players), yes this is the experience every game. You win one fight on any map (you don't even necessarily have to do well) and you'll immediately get Sombra, Bastion, Ana. Ironically, players just assume that they can just switch to hard counters and it immediately works, but they also have to be skilled at the counter to even affect a good ball. You just have to learn how to play against all the counters and hope they are worse than you. Worst case, you have to switch. I could continue on the state of hamster but I'll probably just repeat what every other ball main says. They ruined the cute little rodent.

Yeah it’s a constant uphill battle! Such an unforgiving character to play but goddamn can I never drop him. there’s nothing like him anywhere else. I’ve mained ball since he dropped and they might break the game but they’ll never BREAK MY SPIRIT. Guess I’m just a glutton for punishment lmao

Yeah! And learning to play against your counters is even harder in a game like OW where you're encouraged to counterpick to win the current match instead of trying to make something work to get better at the game/hero (and punished by toxicity much of the time if you don't).

Man I used to call myself a ball main, and i still play him whenever I play tank, but it's every game just being bullied. I'm a Lucio main now, I can't drop playing movement characters and Lucio and ball are the only ones with rlly cool movement. Also I swear ana sleeps are magnetised to you as ball. Also what's so evil is every now and then you'll have this one game and it is the most fun you can have in overwatch, so you are exited to play ball more and then next game goes back to the normal suffering. God I wish I could play ball more

diamond ball player here, its so bad against tanks, ive said it since the start of ow2 but tanks being one person now means you can just killi the tank to push hard, ive gotten in the habit of taking enemy reins off the map 7/10 times my team will be able to clean up lol. With ball I think its magnified by how ball is meant to be played. heres to a buff or rework

Orisa, JQ, Tracer, Zen, Kiriko, and Tracer aren't bad to play against. If you struggle with them you have a lot of room for improvement. The only characters that just ruin my fun is Cass, Sombra, Mauga, and Mei which sadly happens every game now.

3:45 Yes eskay, yes it is. I played strictly ball at 3.5k for over a year in ow1. I still feel like I'm playing against GMs in 9/10 quickplay matches. Quickplay players have fun losing to a character challenge is impossible. They always full counter cause their qp ego cant handle an imaginary loss

Ball suffers from being fun to play but infuriating to play against, so they never want to make him hard meta. The number of people who swap to counter you is directly proportional to how annoying it is to die to you, not the impact you are having on the game...

I think its not the hero thats at fault, its the 5v5 format. This hero was meant to synergize with a 2nd tank who likely would be the main anchor tank while they were an off-tank. But now that the 2nd one is removed, this hero cannot ever reach their full potential since they will be focused down hard until they reworked it so hard, it may aswell be a new hero. In conclusion. 5v5 didnt solve anything as OW2 is msking the same balance mistakes again.
