I played Enniscrone a few years ago in the month of April. We got sun , clouds, wind, rain, hail , sleet and snow and THEN, we moved on to the second hole😂😂😂. And I’m actually not even joking . My two favorite links courses are Waterville and Enniscrone, both on the Wild Atlantic Way but miles apart. Love the videos
My late grandfather would tell me stories of playing here, that would’ve been for him, in the 80’s I imagine.. a few years back he gave me his course ball-marker he had kept all those years.. He said he played horribly and that it was a hard course lol.. I enjoyed watching this and picturing him out there hacking away..

I played college golf at Illinois State in the early 90s. My Junior year we took our Spring Break trip to the SW coast of Ireland. The day after shooting 74 at Waterville in 30mph winds, we played Ballybunion... Constant sideways rain in 40-50mph gusts. Truly unplayable conditions. My foursome had to make a 3 man wall to block the wind on the elevated 13th tee to just be able to stand up to hit our drives. We decided to skip 14-17 and walked to 18 to finish. If I'd kept score and finished the round I don't think I would have broken 110. Such a gorgeous course and a nightmare playing memory. Thank you so much for sharing this video so I could look back at the true beauty of this magnificent golf course. Tom Watson says it's his favorite course in the world.

It was funny watching the panic set in at the start of the round when the realisation hit that it could end up as a cricket score. But, fair play, it was a good battle to get it back on track and post a respectable score on what is a proper track. Great video. The whole Irish series has been a superb watch.
@diggerlenny48366 ай бұрын
It's funny. I thought this was like more of the 'old Pete' not playing wise,just how he was mentally and his reactions to the shots. Lately I thought he's been way more chilled and probably more importantly golf wise going along a shot at a time. I know content creators have to talk as they play but it's gotta be a distraction. It's as if the more shots go astray the longer the next shot description gets. Can't be easy to play savage at same time always too. What a track tho🤩

Hope you enjoy The Open this week! You're killing it, Pete! 💪🏼 Edit: If I were you, I wouldn't worry myself too much with trying to diagnose swing troubles here. As others have mentioned, you just seemed like you were trying to deal with quite a bit of tightness in your back. Looked like it maybe kept you from committing all the way on certain shot types this round. Still a solid round, nothing to apologize for here.

Pete, I gotta say that all my best rounds start with pars, birdies, or eagles. My last skins game on our little executive course started with an eagle in fact. It didn't win the skin, but it saved it. I shot 8 under with just a single bogie on the card. The moral of the story is play a shorter course. 😂

Don't think that matters, as Portmarnock is going through the consideration process to see can it logistically be an option in the future. And that course is definitely in the Republic,. However, Ballybunion could never be an option, as logistically it would not pass. If you ever drive the roads to get there, you would understand why! I don't think it has ever even hosted an Irish Open for those reasons.
