I think Vanguard was still worse than mw22 Considering that game made cod worse after,it had a bad mode of zombies and campaign. Meanwhile, mw22 had a decent campaign and amazing dmz Vanguard also had complicated 10 attachments slot systems. Not only that, but even if the game has better movement and an arcadey style, I literally got bored playing the game because of its level progression system, which was FAR worse than the original MW19 and everything as whole was not promising towards the community. Imo that game caused cod to go down spiral and I'd still think mw22 was better than Vanguard

You can tell just how many people that hated this game were new to COD and started with MW2019, because they obviously didn’t realize that every game before Ghosts didn’t even have sliding, much less slide-canceling. Hell, not only did they not have tac-sprint, but there wasn’t even unlimited sprinting, you were mostly walking the whole time… and these are the same people saying “old COD was fast-paced” when they probably never even played these games. I skipped MW2019 through Vanguard and only got back into COD with MW2022, so I didn’t notice any changes at all with the movement, because the games I had played before didn’t even have it.

MW 2019's gunsmith was complicated and disliked? It was easily one of the best parts about the game... Also it wasn't complicated, you just had a lot of choice and admittedly the stats of certain attachments weren't always clear... People complained because the game literally punished you for moving. Not only did they bring back what people hated about MW19, they doubled down then added more ridiculous crap. Removed slide canceling? Nerf the entire movement to the ground, made it impossible to not hear an enemy from across the map, they even added an animation for dead silence so you can get caught while popping it. Wanna get a good KD? Just dont move your ass the entire game and you'll be fine. Thank god MW3 rectified this abomination of a game

Here’s my hot take: i liked this game, i was good at it, i enjoyed it, the sbmm was a major annoyance but i had fun, dmz was my home, i never really struggled with the movement in this game as much as people said, most likely cause i come from a Battlefield background. I dont like MW3, funny thing is my kd on both games is the same, (1.35) but i dont have a silver of enjoyment in mw3, the movement went so far into hyperspeed movement that it loops around and feels half assed, BO6 omnimovement is what MW3 (and MW2) should have been, the gun balance in 3 is the worst i have ever seen in any video game, the overly strict meta makes 97% of the gun roster unusable, the visual style is horrendous, i hate playing mw3 but i enjoyed mw2 alot, i still have fun with it to this day. Is it perfect? Fuck no lmao they fucked up the gunsmith, minimap and perk system for no reason. But i’ll take it over MW3’s hyper competitive meta gun sweatfest any day.

To me, it seemed like the new MW2 was actually trying to retrofit their new MW 2019 to make it more like the old style of Cod so it just ended up being this Frankenstein that doesn't really cover bases in either direction of gameplay. I get that same feeling in MW3, it's like i'll still get that same Cod rush where it's about the gunplay and then occasionally come up against full slide double jump shot guys. It's fine once you put them down a few times but yeah it's this weird blend. I just wish they'd built upon what they had rather than this odd mix they've now where they've now built themselves into a bit of a corner.

I think mw2 did a lot right. The last games before it didnt feel like a modern shooter, with too much b-hopping, slide cancelling, double weapon swapping and defined meta weapons that restricted gameplay. It felt like actual skill, aiming and map knowledge was second to learning to run faster than your enemies could turn. If i wanted a game about moving faster than my enemy id play forza or gran turismo. I play cod to get in gunfights, not sliding races. Mw2 did that, it gave the semi tactical, semi realistic, hollywood feel of COD Where youre not a super soldier, but a well trained soldier. And weapons that all felt like they had a place based on how you played (at least before all the random stat buffs/nerfs around half a year after launch) Mw3 threw all that out the window with the movement, now its back to slide races and corner jumping garbage.

Everyone hated that family tree system guns had, but honestly I thought that was the one thing MW2 did right. Now granted, I actually love MW2 but I'm also more of a tactical shooter gamer. Even though it was confusing and annoying it was unique and interesting and forced you to not just use whatever was meta and actually build around your situation.

my problem with mw2 was the fact that people always played like some pro league player was watching them play and if they didn’t do good they wouldn’t get into pro league i stopped playing once mw3 released and i got back into just before bo6 came out and i cannot play that game it’s too sweaty for me to actually play. i get on to have fun not get killed every round of snd by some try hard yy spamming and and bunny hopping around a corner. Im just tryna level up guns not try out for pro league
