Mario is Missing is actually okay. It's a bit tedious since each level is pretty much the same, but overall it plays fine. Basically each town has three items, each held by a Koopa troopa. Stomp on the troopas to get them, then go to the three buildings that they're supposed to be at. You also need to figure out what city you're in so you can get Yoshi to help you talk to the Peach lookalikes, and to get through the warp pipe to the next level. Also, I looked like you were having problems talking to the people. I believe you need to be looking face to face at them for it to work. A lot of it's reputation is just from the title. It doesn't sound like an educational game.

While yes the Zelda CD-I games and Hotel Mario are bad they actually weren't developed by Nintendo they were developed by... Well Philips, to make a long story short after Nintendo had canceled plans to make a CD add on for the SNES. Nintendo saw that Philips were making their own console. Nintendo though that the CD-I would be a failure so they let Philips select 5 of their franchises to make games for on the Philips CD-I and here we are today.

To be fair, the Zelda games on CD-i aren't truly bad. The controls are just awful. CDi has so much input lag its staggering.. I own all 3 of those games and 2 CD-i's lol. The games themselves feel like zelda games honestly. It's more like they are rare enough, and the animation looks terrible, so everyone just said it sucked, and people who have never even played them started saying it as well because they heard they sucked, and now it's just the way it is.
