Came to say this too. Daggerdale is cheap and forgettable and I never bothered doing a second playthrough with a different character, but I personally don't recall minding it too much until the final battle; I was okay with it enough to play it to the end. With Descent to Undermountain, I couldn't stomach dealing with it anymore past an hour or so and never returned. It's legit terrible, outside of its using what would later be the tavern music in Baldur's Gate. That's the one good thing I can recall about it.

Heroes of the Lance? That shit is straight up not playable. It is barely a game. This is not hyperbole. If you think this is bad, you have no idea. My experience is with the NES version (which is very easy to get running on an emulator. I actually did have the cartridge as a kid, though.) @@WilliamSRD A large part of the problem with videogames in the 4e era of D&D (i would say 2008-2012/2013) was that the license for games was held by Atari (guess who published this game here) and they didn't really do anything with it, publishing stuff most likely just to prove they're maintaining the license. in 2009 Hasbro sued Atari to get the license back (Atari was also sublicencing it to Bandai Namco at the time I believe which was a contractual no-no if memory serves... it's been a few years) and only in late 2011 did they get it back. unsurprisingly, this game came out mid 2011, likely when the writing was on the wall that the license was going away.

You're nuts. They were awesome. D&D converted directly to the PC. Now maybe they don't survive the test of time, but... No.

I actually tried this game. The part where you have to stop the ballista fucked me. I remember ignoring every single enemy just to wail on the ballista but it would only get to half health before reaching the objective making me lose

This was sold as an arcade game on the 360, weird to compare it to full games instead of Doritos crash course

Found this one in a bargain bin for like $8 back in the day... I spent far too much. That Blue look, that is really all I remember, think I was green once too.

This game is stunningly visually similar to Kingdom of Amalur! The UI looks almost identical!

This is why I always enjoyed the ways they made more classic PC games. Wc3 d2 dungeon siege.. if servers were down for multi player but you had friends available who wanted to play it was possible to set up Lan connection. That's not even possible for most games these days

Forget not getting past that Gamespy screen. I don't think any of my keyboards has an any key!

Ugh why did you have to remind me of Sword Coast Legends, I was fortunate enough to have a game-breaking bug in a boss fight that convinced me to just uninstall it instead of trying to slog through the rest of that mess.

When you throw a hammer at a barrel, it makes a pretty satisfying "clunk" noise. I got nothin' outside of that. 😅

Did someone try to get it to run with Game Ranger (Free Gamespy replacement)?

What’s so bad about Rezlus? He’s powerful, he’s loyal - to the lord of darkness, and we all need darkness, so we can sleep and have low light for romantic candle-lit dinners… not at the same time… well I guess you could… maybe that’s your thing. Nevertheless, I’m still yet to hear what’s so bad about Rezlus. He doesn’t sound so bad. I’m assuming Rezlus is a he. Ah! Maybe that woman in the opening cut scene is an ex of Rezlus and has a grudge against him… maybe THAT explains why she wants the murder hobos to defeat Rezlus (who’s not such a bad guy, going by the info we’ve been given). Oh, Rezlus has constructed an army to conquer Daggerdale, she says… so you must kill them? Hypocritical murder hobos!

I bought this game on sale during a steam sale back in 2013. I played it for 32 minutes according to my steam account and I've completely forgotten about it until now

I bought this back around 2014 on the PS3, I saw it on PSN and was like "Oh cool, they finally made another game like Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance!" then I started playing it and immediately realized they did not quite do that. It was deflating. BG: DA is one of the only Co op games I've sat there and played all the way through with someone else who was also glued to the screen.

omg, this is actually in my steam library. I am now compelled to (try) playing it (again), because I'm a masochist that way.

Wow, it's been awhile since i've played this... I actually enjoyed it, up until I found out the level limit was 10... However, here are a few things I learnt through my playthrough of the Elven Rogue: It's hard to tell while playing, but you can actually charge up your abilities before casting them by holding the button down, you should be able to see the aura around your character change. With the Elven Rogue the first ability is a charge-up shotgun affect, without charging it shots only a few arrows, but after charging you can release a ton more. I find this is one of the easiest abilities to see charge up as you can see a little cone appear in front of your character which widens the longer the button is held down. Also, regarding sneak attacks - the first two of the rogues abilities apply status effects such as fear or blind which allows for easier backstabs - as per the aura around the character, it's hard to tell that an enemy is blinded as they will still swing randomly around themselves when blinded (and as you noticed, playing solo you tend to get swarmed by mobs). I actually found these status ailments made it easier to solo many mobs/bosses due to the crowd control capabilities - just my two cents though. Also, pressing F1 will enable all graphical settings back to default, pressing any other F# key will disable a certain part of the graphics... Makes me feel like I'm playing something out of the predator universe Lastly, apparently Steam's Remote Play Together is a work-around to get co-op working on this - with all the downsides associated with it (but hey, it's something at least). Edit to add; there is a fix to the missing textures on equipment! "you can edit the DefaultGame.ini like described here pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Dungeons_%26_Dragons:_Daggerdale#Missing_textures Go to \DnDGame\Config\ Open DefaultGame.ini. Go to MAGIC PROPERTIES Replace every instance of VisualEffect= with ;VisualEffect= Save your changes and close the file." You can also poke around the config file as they are readable/editable in plain text (want to edit how your fighter starts?)

If steam remote play is slow you can always try moonlight or parsec.
