I am on that journey and have been for a year and a half. I have had to move to short form because like you said posting long form consistently is hard with a very demanding full time job. It is ok though, I will keep going and figure out my way. I am just trying to enjoy the process and learn along the way. Well said! For me, it’s passion first, then discipline. It’s easy to burn out on KZbin if you’re just trying to keep up with what everyone else is doing. I used to follow trends because I was told that’s how to succeed, but I realized my real drive comes from my passion, so I decided to stay true to that. I closed myself off to all the noise and focused on my purpose here. I also watch videos to improve and study the KZbin handbook to grow my skills. I fully agree! Batch creating really helps with keeping consistent and being more relaxed while producing content. So much work going into content creation, so it's a disappointment to record a video and feel that it's not up to standard because of feeling rushed. Great insights!

I also think a commonality between the new car vlog and the patio vlog is people liking to see other people buying new stuff haha like they want to see what’s the latest stuff out there…it’s kind of “aspirational watching” … that’s why product reviews, unboxings etc are so popular on KZbin. People just like to see what other people buy and what they think of it. Because hey maybe they will steal one of the ideas or buy the product themselves! So it’s almost like entertainment AND education in one video. Hope this helps! :)

Monetization is hard to get! I assumed that getting 1000 subscribers would pretty much guarantee the 4000 hours of watch time, but I’ve had the subscribers for months and I still don’t have enough hours. I’m making a huge effort to post more videos and to make each one longer than my usual 5-10 minutes.

I thought so too. I have been trying to figure out how to increase my watch time and honestly I think it’s a matter of longer videos, more retention, and value. Now to implement that is another story.

I'm on week 3 and im definitely consistent (3 videos per week) - but my views are so low that i'm looking into why that's happening. I have to say I am figuring out that my SEO needs work and titles/thumbnails I thought would work need a lot more work. I'm lucky that I have been running my business for a while that I know it takes time and effort to grow in any new platform so comparison isn't a huge issue for me. One thing about KZbin is you have to continue Posting, even though you get 1 or zero views on some videos. After some time, it pays. Also try going live, it helps a lot.

Thanks for sharing a realistic view of growth on youtube! It took me a little under two years to get moatized. Where for a large part it was 1 video a week plus shorts and almost towards the end I went to 2 videos a week plus shorts, anything that has to do with art. This is great. I wish it was more for the lazy though. I’m too shy And right now I’m my life with my chaotic family, I just don’t have it in me to dedicate this much to it. SO not only did you give a great lesson and great advice and a good starting line explanation, and blueprint too, but also FINALLY gave me what I needed to quit feeling this guilt and this tug that I’m the only idiot not doing KZbin and I suck for not doing it and everyone is making WAY too much money and I hate that social media pays and that I have to feel like I need in on it - and I can finally feel okay about it until I’m ready lol 😂 thank you soooo much. ❤
