During the production of their first album, they had all but finished it. They stepped back and realized they didn't like what the label had guided them towards, so they redid the entire album. I would imagine that this is their reaction to that. Id be willing to bet this is about rise records specifically

The song is partially about what happened to them, they signed with Rise for their second album, and they made them have more of a pop sound, while their first album was heavier, and now that they have left Rise they’re going back to what they want to do and have the freedom to do so. They said that Trauma is going to be their deepest record they’ve ever recorded

You are spot on with the meaning of the video. I Prevail split from their record label after their last album Lifelines because they wanted them to go more of the pop rock type of music and they wanted to go heavier. I would say they succeeded in going more heavy. ALSO, they released another single the same day as this one that highlighted Brian's vocals (the clean vocals) more. Highly recommend giving that song a listen as well.
