The grow room is looking fantastic Christopher ... and I'm really impressed with your work on the 3D printer ... Way to Go Bro that turned out really well. I've been playing with 3D printers for a little while now and think they are really cool technology and now even reasonably priced enough so the average Joe can easily afford one. I have been printing various models that a artist sells online and it's amazing watching and then assembling the pieces to make a model, it's almost like bringing your creation to life ... I'll just have to learn to paint them ... lol ... anyway good to see you my friend .. as always and take care ;)

3D printing is SO MUCH FUN! I just love to be able to create whatever I need. There is so many uses for it if you are creative. This is also such a fun project. If you ever want the files for this build, just let me know. :-)

@@ChristopherBrandsdal ... I would love to print the aerogarden you created my friend, thank-you very much for the offer. I would enjoy some more technical vids on how you made it and feel like I have a hundred questions .. lol .. and would like to share another project I want to start working on. Did you use a Raspberry Pi to make the controller board? .. and it's very interesting that you could get the led panel made for you and then you could just program it. You mentioned that it's Wi-Fi so you also wrote some software to be the controller? You spent lots of time and energy working on you project and I'd be happy to pay for your design and to maybe help with future projects, because I know nothing is free, and you probably spent some money on filament alone just perfecting everything ;-) I will send you a msg on Facebook with my email Christopher and we can continue sharing ideas about these projects. Take Care my friend, and talk with you again soon :)

How did you make the 3D print container water tight? You must be very sure of it when having electronics below it!

Great video as usual Chris, it is always great to watch your videos, pleasent time and a crazy project 🤪🤣 I just bought one of this blue barrels to try pepper in it instead of the 5G buckets, any advice? Also, where did you get the fresh coffee beans from? I am in Canada and we only have them brewed 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@ChristopherBrandsdal4 жыл бұрын
Oh, the only thing I found with peppers in water is that I need to change the water often. The PH drops very fast, and it's easy to get root rot. As for the coffee, I got this as a tiny plant. I also tend to dring the beans I can get a hold on hahaha. I think you can get fresh berries online in season, but have not tried yet.
@RunaaSteinamrk4 жыл бұрын
This is very cool. I have a Click&Grow (which I love) but I have been searching for one like yours, where I can grow bell peppers and I can extend the "arm" very high, since bell pepper plants get pretty tall, and just one plant instead of 3 or more fighting for space. I wonder if one could use Raspberry Pi to make a hydroponic/aero garden 🤔 (sorry, I don't know the terms)
@ChristopherBrandsdal4 жыл бұрын
I will definitly try a peeper soon in this one. Will be fun to see how that goes. Sure you could use a raspberry pi for that. I use custom made controller board based on the samd21.

Very nice. The one thing I'd do differently is making it way bigger, which I guess you wouldn't be able to print with a 3D printer, would you? I currently have a big 27 gallon square tub, the kind you can pick up from your big box store for $10 and have kale growing out of it. I'm doing it because I'm new to hydroponics. It's the summer here and I don't need this yet, but want to gain experience. I'd LOVE to be able to grow a tree indoors. Specifically, an avocado tree. I'm not even sure if that's possible.

Hehe, i was thinking that light would kill off the salads before you said it. Salads usually like it around 200PAR and i'm guessing from your light and height you are reaching somewhere around 1000-2000!
@ChristopherBrandsdal4 жыл бұрын
Haha yes! Given what I know by the other lights I have with distance I would think it outputs well over 1000 at low hight. Would love to have a meter to test it and tune it.

Lovely project :) Did you consider coating the inside with food safe epoxy? Or do you reckon there won’t be any health issues with the plastic as it is? PLA and PETG should both be safe in their basic form, but you never know what additives they use for coloring and other effects. The uneven surface of an untreated 3D print might also attract a lot of unwanted growth.
@ChristopherBrandsdal4 жыл бұрын
Not planning to do anything at all. Will be fun to see how it works over a few months. I use PETG since PLA would just not work with water.
