This mix sounds huge asf, and this is the part that i can't get in my own mixes. I watched the entire video and still didn't quite understood what you did to make that huge, so i would happily watch a part 2 if you would make it! Oh, and also i am very interested in the drum mixing. It has this tight modern metal sound( kinda like in SLAVIC METAL 2) So yeah, good video, mate! I'm subscribing and waiting for more uploads. Love from Russia!

It is kind of surprising Nik has used a guitar library given the fact that he is a quite capable guitar player. Programming these would take longer than playing them, however once you are done entering the notes there would be no need for editing timing and pitch issues.
@JakobStrand3 ай бұрын
You don't have to completely replace your guitar playing with VSTs, you can use them to complement your productions instead. Works perfectly!

The whole point of the song is that it's all vst instruments, hence the song title "Fake"

Hello MO, I have a question that nobody is answering me, Im having trouble with the tremolo picked key switch, It seems is not working for me, Have you experienced this before?:(
@codexstudios3 ай бұрын
I've emailed Solemn Tones, and they said it's bugged. It's not supposed to play a looping sample of tremolo playing like Hydra, but to use in order to better program tremolos yourself. They said it would be in 3.1 update, but later in a youtube comment mentioned that it would be in 3.2 instead. They'll put out a tremolo programming tutorial when it's fixed. For now, you just gotta kind of fiddle with fast notes and velocities until it sounds right.

Great Video! Do you know any free/cheap alternatives for the FG Grey/Red Comp?
@codexstudios3 ай бұрын
FG red is a VCA compressor, so you can use the VCA setting on Analog Obsession's COMPER plugin. I'd recommend all the Analog Obsession stuff, it's completely free. They have emulations of almost all the famous compressors and eqs.

bro how do people even record such clean DIs? I own a 8 string strandberg and it always sounds like shit no matter what neural DSP plugin I use :( what’s the matter? :( perhaps you could record a guide on DIs some time?…
@codexstudios3 ай бұрын
One of the biggest recommendations I see is to get a DI box instead of plugging into your interface. Should clean it right up. Glenn Fricker has a video on the subject.
