Awesome job Adam, Mister Bennetts. History in the Making, Legend 👍🍺🏄🏼 Me Beginner "KOOK hahaha" on the foilboard been learning a lot on the Kihei Runs the last 6 weeks. Kihei is easier to learn on than Maliko for a Beginner Kook like me. I did sign up for the M2M but pulled out "I'd be like after 5 miles Claire come and get me please = Help Me Please Mr Wizard" was hoping to catch up with you Mr Bennetts but our paths didn't cross - Maui's unreal hay! this is my 18 tour of Maui ❤🍺👍 love The People The Place & The Vibe. I have done the M2M 8 times already on an 18ft SIC SUP, 3 1/2 hours it used to take me - Foiling is were it's at; faster & more surfing 🍺🍺🍺 p.s. I've had Honolua Bay Pumping it's like Angourie on Steroids 🏄🏼

Wild...why was it too light for the downwind board, didnt the other guys use these boards?
@sikguystg4 ай бұрын
he was hoping to use hand paddles/gloves instead of a real paddle
@misterbennetts4 ай бұрын
Yeh I can’t use the SUP paddle. I never learnt how. So I was going to use hand paddles or webbed gloves, but the start was super light so I would have paddled for maybe 5-10 miles before I got into decent bumps to be able to get up. So just sent it on the prone. Stoked I made it!
@DrKnowNothing14 ай бұрын
Amazing you could make with a damaged foil! Is dockstarting off a boat cheating? Is everyone supposed to be stationary for the start, like a running race? Or are people allowed to be up and foiling before the start, like the start of a sailboat race?
@misterbennetts3 ай бұрын
Yeh so stoked. Not really sure, I dock started behind the start line after the hooter went, so not sure where that sits as Ridge did the same off a rock in the Paddlw Imua race a few days earlier. I think if I was too fall in the channel and then get assistance from my boat, I could be disqualified. At the end of the day, I’m just stoked to be able to do the crossing in one hit!
@DrKnowNothing13 ай бұрын
@@misterbennettsI buy the flying start, I just didn’t know if it was specified. Do you wish you’d had an even smaller board, for better pumping efficiency? Or were you glad to have a mid length for touchdowns? Were you going downwind faster than the wind? If not, do you wish you’d worn a baggy top, to capture a bit of wind energy?
@misterbennetts3 ай бұрын
Well this is my normal prone board at 4’0”, so I couldn’t have gone any smaller 🤣 At times I was going pretty fast, a baggy top probably would have just gotten in the way. I was just enjoying being able to surf the bumps properly without having a giant board that gets in the way and gets grabbed by the wind. I’m stoked with how everything felt!
@DrKnowNothing13 ай бұрын
@@misterbennettsawesome! Maybe you’ll help normalize pronefoil downwinders!
@misterbennetts3 ай бұрын
I hope I can inspire some more people to do it prone! I’ve got another vlog on my M2O run dropping tomorrow morning. Talks more about the prone element of down winding on a regular down wind board with webbed gloves. Stay tuned!
@santiagoortizbasualdo36824 ай бұрын
do you need more wind to start with the webbed gloves than with the stand up paddle?
@misterbennetts4 ай бұрын
On a traditional down wind board, yes and no. You really just need the bumps to be steep. Which can happen with not too much wind. But generally, the more wind, the steeper the troughs!
