Connie Francis was MGM Records bread and butter for many years. Interesting, she signed with them at age 15 in 1955, and had her first hit with them during January 1958 and went on to be a mega star internationally. In 1960, she signed a deal which has still not been met, and this deal gave her the highest monetary contract, as well as complete control over her career, making her the first female producer and executive producer, and costing her nothing in the process to further her career. All gowns for concerts were paid for by MGM. Of course, she was also given a movie deal. Every record company wanted her when her MGM contract was up in 1960, and MItch Miller, head of Columbia Records at the time, was one knocking at her door after turning her down in 1955. No other company could match MGM/s contract.
