Thank you :) I'm not from Australia; I'm from the North West of England but live in Oxfordshire now, so my accent is a bit of a mixture of north and south

They really are very pretty Mary, I love them ❤. I have been reliably informed that if you rub your mould with a tumble drier sheet it stops all the static. ( I have not tested the theory yet as no drier sheets 😂)

That's useful to know. I use tumble dryer sheets when hand embossing. If you rub your domed tool over them it helps it to glide more easily over the card. It works really well but I so rarely hand-emboss these days because I have an embossing machine that does the entire card in 2 seconds :)

Really pretty, loved watching your process of making them. I think a black background really works well with the abalone.

Thank you so much. I really love the contrast that the black gives but I was surprised by how much I loved the pink ones - that's coming from someone who is really not a fan of pink!

They really are totally stunning. I bought nail art abalone shells when Temu had them on special offer. I still haven't used any, as I couldn't decide on which resin colours would enhance them. But after seeing your tutorial, I now know that both black and white are very beautiful, just in different ways. I would never have thought of dusting with mica, that looks gorgeous and it was a great idea. Love the pinch bails you use, they totally set the pendants off. Thank you so much for sharing x

I'm glad you found the video helpful :) I really don't feel like a do a good job of UV resin top-coating so I wanted to cast in reverse order and get a smoother top to the pendants. I want to experiment with other mica powders in the background now because I think some of the chameleon powders would work with the shell iridescence. I don't want the mica to take over but if I used a subtle colour shifting one I think it could work :)

It was very helpful! I often work in reverse, as sometimes that the only way I can get a nice finish. Have you tried the ghost micas? Although they can give amazing results with black resin, I love how they look with white resin. I think they would look amazing with the paler shells. Temu had a cute little tester kit with 8 different colours. Maybe you could try that and see what you think? x

Can you use u v resin?
@marymcintyresfxartcraft741711 ай бұрын
Yes you absolutely could. The abalone shell set I bought was actually for nail artists to use and most gel nails are UV cured

Nice for a beginner, but if you really want to see best use and make pieces that would sell, check out what the Japanese resin artists are doing!
