Can u use other contents of other pods in the reusable pod u have as my son loves the hot chocolate ones from the Nespresso range. So could he take the powder out of them use it in the one u have then get his hot chocolate through the tassimo machine? Im not having two coffee machines in my kitchen lol

Hello. So I’ve been using these pods with my tassimo for a few years now. And recently my pods are literally exploding, coffee everywhere, the grounds and the brew too. Has that happened to you? Help!! Please and thank you.
@marymcintyresfxartcraft74178 күн бұрын
Hiya, how frustrating! Are they the same lids you have been using from the start? Because I've noticed that silicone degrades over time with the constant heat exposure. My very first lid is now less robust than when it was new and if they're slightly flimsier they may not seal properly. I'm pretty sure you can buy replacement lids without the rest of the pod so it's worth trying that. It could also be that the plastic of the pod itself has got slightly warped from the heat exposure too, also meaning the seal isn't tight. One other thing that's just come to mind is that the pressure build up is greater if the filters are getting clogged so I wash, completely dry then brush/blow the excess coffee out of both filters every 4th cup I've made. It stops the coffee getting too foamy on top and means the water pressure doesn't build up as much. This all just guess work because obviously the manufacturers don't want to share info on anything that means they will lose pod sales!
@shilpadhawan5428 күн бұрын
@ I might have made seven cups of coffee last night, few exploded, few didn’t. Can the coffee itself cause this? I noticed that the finer coffee grounds I had did not work well. One of the two in-exploded pods had a coarser grind. I’m too scared to try again. So much coffee wasted. I’ve not had good coffee in days. I’m in withdrawal, really. Haha

But yes. I’ll also try the new lids I have.

I’ve tried the nail foils with little success. Will the clear coat you use for dip nails work to hold it on? Also, so glad Slinky is okay. I had a similar fright a long time ago when my Ebony had a seizure. They are part of our family and supervisors of our hobbies. ❤ ~Randi
@marymcintyresfxartcraft74178 күн бұрын
I haven't actually ever done any kind of nail art so my only experience with foils is using this UV nail glue. I think you can use any UV product designed for nail use and I think you're supposed to part cure it so it grips onto the foils. I can't get that right so I now just put the UV nail stuff on and lay the foil over it wet then cure it under my lamp. I've had more success doing that but it's not perfect every time. I really need a better UV lamp! Thanks so much for your comment about Slinky. In June we went away for one night, and a friend fed the cats for us. Slinky wasn't here when we got home and there hasn't been a single sighting of him anywhere in our area since then. It's like he vanished into thin air :( People are still keeping an eye out for us and we hope he just walks back in the door one day but it's looking unlikely after so much time. Just to make matters worse we lost our 7 year old calico cat, Mono, on Christmas Day. She suddenly collapsed and died on Mark's lap as I raced us to the vets. We're still struggling to take in the fact we went from 5 cats to 2 cats in under a year :(

Happy New Year Peter. I hope you had a lovely Christmas period? We sadly had more bad news as our 7 year old calico cat, Mono, died suddenly on Christmas Day. She collapsed and had a some kind of seizure as we were dishing up our Christmas dinner. Mark did CPR as I called the vets, we got straight in the car with her on Mark's lap as he continued trying to revive her but she died in his arms before we even made it out of the village. She was one of those extra special cats and we're honestly broken :( Eevee was Mono's cat mum and Eevee is also missing her baby so she's getting all of the cuddles. We've gone from 5 cats to 2 cats in under a year because Slinky is still missing after disappearing in June. I know you get it after losing Felix. Sorry to be sharing such a negative post but you always ask after the cats so I thought you'd like to know :( x

@@marymcintyresfxartcraft7417 Oh no, I'm lost for words, that is utterly terrible news, that's hard to take in. Thanks for letting me know (and for remembering Felix, who I was just thinking about). I'm so saddened and gutted to hear this and so sorry, Mary. Mono was an extra special cat, as all your cats are. So young too, and unbelievably sad timing, that really is just not fair. You don't deserve things like that happening, being such a kind and special person yourself. Sending big hugs x

I would love to see a video where you sand down and polish items where things went wrong… I have ever so many items that stuck to the cardboard (very bad idea!! to put underneath) or the UV resin and also the ones with epixy resin ean down the edges and destroyed the bottom side….I must say, I (you) do need patience for this hobby, don‘t you agree?
@marymcintyresfxartcraft74178 күн бұрын
I have a huge box of UV resin pieces that went wrong so I should look at ways to fix them because I hate waste (it's why I've kept them all!). I don't have a great success rate with anything that involves UV resin and I don't know if it's the lamp I have not being up to scratch. I use reputable brands of UV resin but it makes no difference. You definitely do need the patience of a saint

Mary, on the MyReusable website, they also sell Stainless Steel pods which are quite expensive at £34.99 each. I purchased a 180mm cheaper plastic pod with the tamper and ordered a 200mm lid so that I could try the pods out with either coffee or hot chocolate. The company sent TWO pods each Instead of one pod and one lid, with a measuring spoon and a brush for both. 😀 The tamper came in a separate box. I’m considering getting a couple of the stainless steel pods later. Were you aware of the stainless steel pods and if you were, have you used them yourself ? I own the Suny version of the Tassimo coffee machine.

Hi Mary, I've just received a tassimo happy machine for my birthday and found the coffee pod world a minefield, I love my coffee fix but which coffee pod flavour to get could get expensive if you get one you don't like, after seeing your video I'm really considering getting one of those reusable pods so that I can get a coffee of my choice. It would be far cheaper in the long run and stop the use of plastic. The only drawback I can see is the faff if you need to make a second cup for my partner, however I think in time I would get used to it if not she can make her own using the kettle 😂. Great video by the way 👍
@marymcintyresfxartcraft74178 күн бұрын
Hi Steve, so sorry for the very late reply. If you haven't already done it, I would honestly buy two reusable pods so you can fill them both and make coffee with separate pods. It will reduce your risk of potentially scalding yourself because the pod and contents get so hot. They will both still pay for themselves in a short time compared to buying pre-made pods. My husband likes coffee very very weak so he actually uses my pod a second time - it looks like weak tea to me but he likes it! If he liked actual coffee and not that dishwater, I would definitely get him one of his own

Hello dear Mary, you have made something beautiful and useful of printbords. Newly I bought a shop and there was thousand old memory cards in there. There are as many mem-cards that I think about making big table with them. Glass clear is good but I rather use a little darker glass, see through but little harder to clear mem-cards, if it be a sort of cloudy and make mix of lighter dark areas and darker areas, it would be better, memory cards in mysterious clouds, black mysterious clouds, dark brown or purple mysterious clouds. Mary, what do you think about about my idea? I've never tried Epoxy resin and such project is to big to start with. Mary, by the way print-boards are very easy to work with, you can paint or write what you like on its metal-side put it few minutes in its special acid, it remove the rest and your paiting remain.
@marymcintyresfxartcraft74178 күн бұрын
So sorry for the very late reply. I think your idea of memory cards in a table is a great one. Epoxy resin would definitely work but you would need to chose a product that is suitable for the wear and tear that a table top would get. It would need to be something the same grade as what they use for kitchen counter tops, something that is very hard waring and durable. If you've never worked with resin before then it's worth getting hold of some smaller moulds and some two part epoxy resin and have a play. You definitely need to use a respirator and keep pets/family members away from it until it's fully cured. You can use silicone beakers with markings on and any bits of resin left in the beaker will peel out after use and you can then use the beakers again and again, or you can get single use plastic cups with graduations. Mix the resin as per the instructions but do it slowly and for at least 5 minutes to make sure the two parts are thoroughly mixed, otherwise it won't cure properly. Let the mixed resin sit for a few minutes to help any bubbles come to the surface. A heat gun or blow torch is helpful to quickly pass over the surface after pouring to remove surface bubbles. If you start off by getting used to working with it on a small scale, you can then decide if you feel confident enough to try a bigger project. I have never pouring anything as big as a table top but most videos I've seen of people doing it will completely sand the top layer down to get rid of any imperfections then a thin top layer is added on top. It's worth watching a few epoxy table top videos to get some tips on how best to do it because it's not something I myself would feel confident in doing without much more research. If you pull it off it would look amazing!

Can this work using non uv resin?
@marymcintyresfxartcraft74178 күн бұрын
Sorry for the very late response. If I was going to use these foils in epoxy resin, I would just cut them to the size of the mould and leave them on the backing film. Part fill the mould and lay the film onto the resin design side down, let it thicken up enough that the film has bound then fill it up with a second layer of epoxy. If you're using a domed mould then fill it fuller, place the film upside down (so the pattern is facing towards the bottom of the mould) and let that cure a bit, then back it with another layer. That way your design will get the lovely lensing effect that the domed cabochon moulds give you. You can do your backing coat in any colour, it doesn't have to be clear. I hope that helps.
