Cleetus, you need to add some solenoids to the floats that way when you're flying, you can hit a button and have them detach. You can even paint them to look like bombs and try to hit stuff with them. Then once they are off, you can use the normal landing gear.

Sam is right, it needs some outriggers or at least move the outer floats to the outside of the wing landing gear doors. Wing striking is never a good thing. Also if you haven't already Garret, you should look up FliteTest and the crazy RC plane stuff they build and some of the foam board kits they have designed. Like the Sea Duck flying boat from the cartoon Tail Spin (love that show, its why I love flying boats like the PBY-5A Catalina, my favorite plane).
