you have to watch the show, and preferably read the manga, to understand. The story is harsh and the setting is a terrible place. The song is about being at rock bottom. It's the knowledge that you've lost so much, but refusal to wallow in self-pity. It's accepting the pain you feel as something that's real and not only trying to find the strength to keep going, but to be a better person. The story isn't defined by how characters are strong, but how they're weak. Not many others stories do that. Fewer do it well.

the second saddest moment in the movie was that this man believed every moment he still walked the earth was punishment from god for killing John Coffey.

We shouldn't have the death penalty because just the chance that an innocent person is executed is a complete failure of the justice system. It's archaic and barbarous and as a society I think we should move past it.

The fact that this scene, decades later, still happens is insane. How are you going to be one of the most powerful, rich, and largest population and have some of the worst healthcare, judicial system, school system, etc.
@HumanPhilosopherPatriot2 жыл бұрын
The better question is, why do we let this happen? People like you complain about corruption, tyranny, the system, and privileges, but do nothing. People say violence doesn't solve anything or isn't moral/ethical. But peaceful protests and petitions sure aren't doing anything and continuing immoral and unethical actions/events. I've yet to see what actually needs to be done such as coups, overthrowing governments on the state and federal level, attacking the homes of the corporations and elite politicians, celebrities, CEO's, etc. The answer is people really don't care. They talk big smack on the internet and do fake outcry. And if they really do care. They and nobody else have the balls to do what needs to be done. Maybe the American way of life is just enough so nobody will ever revolt or had enough to change things. Americans are self-centered, selfish, highly individualistic, entitled and previleged all around compared to the rest of the world. Obey and live fat and happy. That's exactly what the elite want. The American people to obey and be content with what they have despite the problems of the United States. But I guess people have so much to lose rather than actually do some needed change. But that would mean losing, your car, your job, your money, your house, your freedom, your rights, etc, so many of the things that the so called American Dream is all about. Remember the 6th? All those elites were scared like rats backed in a corner. Shows to show how powerful the people are compared to the elite. That day should be a lesson for everybody. But foreigners have their own problems too, Canada with Trudeau dealing with the truckers, Australia and their govt ain't so classy either. Heard some not so nice things with Britain too. I have never been to these countries so I cannot say much about them. But alot of American corporations are dug deep in the West. Alot of foreigners love the American media, news, entertainment, etc. It's annoying really. Foreigners like to insult us that we think we are the center of the world, well with the way the world consumes American culture, products, entertainment, news, politics, etc. I say it is the truth that we are the center of the world, and I do not like it.
