Really cool man. I had the same idea. Googled it to see if anyone else had already done it

I figured that we already pay for the vape why not take something out of what would be trash and re use it in something we already use on a daily and have to recharge. And remember great minds think alike. And I'm glad we popped up and you enjoyed the video.

Tried this with a old battery pack and salvaged the bms then soldered 2 north bar batteries to it now it doesn’t charge through the controller anymore 🤣 Gonna have to do something like this aswell. Bought a vape recently with wireless charging I also plan on harvesting that for the right project. 🤔

It's the way to go. I mean why not you already spent money on a rechargeable battery might as well us it for its sole purpose. Plus, less E-waste in the dumps

I was just telling my wife I want to try this. Guess I'll have to figure out how to solder now lol. Great video thank you for making it.

I had an idea when I was thinking about doing this. I made a rechargeable flashlight with vape batteries but was trying to figure out the inline resistor necessity and was thinking about joining/soldering the vapes battery wires into the actual xbox controller charging point on the motherboard to bypass having to add any resistors, and being able to use mini/micro usb instead of type C or even swapping it for type C altogether. My problem is too much curiosity and not enough applicable direct knowledge lol

Also just started the video when I commented so you might be way ahead of me 😂

Thats cool that it works. Any issues with feeding it 7.4 volts? My wife gave me the most are you stupid look when i told her i wanted to try this.

Nope and I still use it and have no issues with recharging or premature battery loss

You should rewire the screen so you could have a cleaner look, and maybe plastic weld a piece of plexiglass to make it flush. You could make good money if you had the process dialed in 👌

I was thinking of revisiting this mod and revamping it to a cleaner look. The quick tape job haunts my dreams lol

@@RETROGAMERSTASHFIXES concept always come first brother! Step one) make sure it even works in the first place. Step two) do it again but better. Step three) repeat until perfected 👌 If I personally was gonna sell em (I don’t want anyone to misconstrue this as any kind of huge business idea or anything lol just a side hustle) but I would buy some controller battery covers and attach vape batteries to them. But I’m order to help prevent lawsuits I would look for a good bonding/molding agent (kinda like bondo) that could be sanded etc but also able to prevent/withstand the batteries from any possible spontaneous combustion. I have probably 30+ vapes I’ve been steadily collecting for random projects but haven’t been particularly patient enough lately to work on small things 😂 I have a 84 e30 coupe that’s taking up most my time lol I’m vicariously enjoying your though lol I’m here if you need any input 👌

@@jrattackk Thats awesome. love revamping old things and seeing how they worked in the past. Was thinking of a possible 3d printed case for the batteries and having a steam off of that for the led screen. I also thought of moving the LED screen to the from part of the shell on the face plate of the controller. And also, I'll keep you in mind. Maybe I'll bounce some ideas off yah if have any new.

But agree with step one see it the thing is going to even work long term before spending money and time on it. hopefully i can get to 1,000 subs then start gathering some income to help with financing these projects so like, subscribe, and share with everyone you know lol

@@RETROGAMERSTASHFIXES if it’s meant to be it will always be 👌 so don’t focus too much on the subscriber aspect, just keep doing what you like doing and everything will fall into its respective place as it always does. Make something “goofy” but also hectic and throw it on shorts or ig or anything and just always remember to never take yourself too seriously, and you won’t give people the power to affect your life and passion 🤙 Also i always forget that 3d printing is a prominent thing now 😂 my brain automatically goes to “sculpting” instead of printing 🤦🏻♂️ and I agree with the screen relocation for a personal controller but to be able to sell them you would have to rig up some sort of protruding mechanism lol Also that would be a cool giveaway you could do as well and maybe snag a sponsor/ad too 🤷🏻♂️ always a no if you don’t ask lol I used to get local businesses to throw me like 150$ more or less a month, depending on the business and how big of a sign they want, and put em all over the landscaping/mower trailer and advertise just by driving around lol I was like 16-17yrs old at the time 🤷🏻♂️😂 but I’ll give throw ya some love brother 👍 remember me when ya hit 5mil 🥳
