I am afraid if I could ever go to London I would be guilty of staring. It would be owed to my love of horses. Does anyone remember the book The Black? The Black stallion returns, Flame. All are a series about Arabian horses and a boy. I read them in elementary school grades 1st through 6th-grades. I still remember plenty of the story line (the plot). Even when he grew heavier he would jockey the horse and still would win.

What a lovely guy Tony is❤️ It warms my heart to hear the respect you have for older generations. My father served during WW2. He had to get his parents permission to join as he was only 17. He would be turning ninety-nine next month. He passed in 2017 and I miss him and his stories, dearly💜

I totally understand your loss. My grandfather served in WW1 as a Machine Gunner. Sadly he died on the big push on The Somme (1916). My father died in 1993 having been born in 1910. He had an Aerodrome in Kent where he met many famous people ie Geoffrey de Havilland, and very many more ❤ bless your memories xx

My maternal Grandfather was a WW2 Captain in the US Army and served in New Guinea. I’ve always had a soft spot and much respect for anyone who served in the Allied Forces. ♥️ We got to see 5 horses for the price of 4 today! Why do you think the Guards and horses need protection ? They are all trained soldiers and ceremonial duties are only a part of what they do . Some are Riding Instructors , some P/T Instructors , some parachute trained . They move to the armoured division and train in armed reconnaissance vehicles . When on duty as boxmen they have the advantage of a 17hh + horse who can as the sign says " kick or bite " and a sword which isn't an ornament ! The new sign and white lines are working , the soldiers aren't just sitting around , 10 more horses to look after , kit to unpack , hay/straw/ feed to organise . The cctv cameras to monitor . Plenty to do behind the scenes .
