Im 30, and for the last 10 years ive gradually had to wear less and less makeup to the point now that i HAVE to be make up free most days of the week or my skin freaks out, and even then its only mascara and lip balm. I started wearing a full face of makeup for fun when i was 12/13 and by the time i was 21 i had dermatitis issues that i never had through puberty. All of you young girls please, be careful what you put on your face for whatever the reason, because companies do not care about you, they just want to make money and the easiest way for them to do that is to make you feel like you NEED their products and its not true! You have an innate God given dignity because you are a human being and it doesnt change because of how you look! ❤ much love

I think so many of us go through this. I also hear some of the things that guys say about women who they find unattractive. It affects me because I have low confidence and a fear of judgment. And in my setting, judgment is incredibly high. People are brutal and thank God I can wear my mask every day because I'm around sick people. I'm not the only one doing it so it's not weird, you know. I can leave the house without makeup now but it has to be counteracted almost. Like, a low baseball cap or sunglasses. I have to hide in some way. I have yet to get over this after many years of trying. I wish every day that I was confident. I can relate to you 10,000 percent.

I totally agree. What changed my perspective on hearing negativity from guys regarding women's appearances was the fact that I realized God would never want me to end up with someone with a vain & superficial heart, so it doesn't matter how those kinds of guys perceive me. In a way, not wearing makeup and making huge attempts to be attractive is a blessing, because it filters out people from your life who don't look at you with a pure heart. People who truly live in a state of love and security genuinely see every face and person as beautiful; if someone doesn't see you as beautiful or actively goes out of their way to comment about your appearance, it's a reflection of them and their inner turmoil only. 🤍

Awww, thank you so much!! It's definitely such a healing process. I'm still going strong today with no makeup, and I genuinely feel like if I ever wear it again, it'll just be on a rare occasion for fun, not because I feel like I need it to cover up my insecurities. It's so nice to be able to approach makeup from a place of confidence and not insecurity. I wish you the best of luck in your journey if you decide to go through with it too! 🥺🫶

This is definitely a canon event in your late twenties. I went without makeup for years and my skin got worse. I decided to start wearing makeup again and my skin is better than ever. Do what makes you feel your best. This message is sincere but it doesn’t realize the place of privilege and genetic advantage it comes from.

I agree with the part on doing what's best for you-I 100% believe that the only thing that matters about wearing makeup or not is if it's done out of a place of insecurity or confidence. For people already wearing makeup from a place of confidence and not because they feel like they need it to cover up insecurities or feel attractive, they probably wouldn't have as many mental benefits from quitting. But for me and so many others who somehow fell in the pattern of wearing makeup out of insecurity, this shift can be very healing, no matter what genetics someone has. But as I said, the benefits of this shift depend on the mindset someone approaches it from-they'll get maximum mental results & healing if they do it because they want to heal their relationship with themselves and not just because they feel shame over wearing makeup. I hope that makes sense lol, I know this was a long response.

I'm a research scientist and have been working in scientific and mathematic pursuits since I was 15 when I got my first research fellowship. I only wear makeup on occasions, like for nights out, holidays, fancy dinners. Moreover, the women I've worked with also rarely if ever wear makeup. They certainly did not wear it to work. The women I went to university and graduate school with rarely wore makeup except for formal occasions. I didn't find it weird until now when I have more friends outside of the STEM field. I think bc we had such interesting pursuits and accomplishments to boost our self-esteem, there just wasn't enough time nor need for makeup. So when we wore it it was for fun and also more fun to apply bc we didn't do it all the time.

Noooo! I mean, you don't have to quit if you don't want to, but as someone who currently has acne, I think what's been most healing about this is the fact that I'm no longer so ashamed of it. It's a normal part of your body protecting itself from bacteria, and feeling ashamed over it just honestly made my life so much worse. I think natural is beautiful, even if that means inflamed skin and/or acne. Also, when I stopped wearing makeup, I actually could get a better sense of how my skin was reacting to things, which helped me a lot in taking better care of it. There's no shame in being human! 🥰🤍

The acne scars aren’t saying anything you simple don’t wanna stop wearing makeup because of your insecurities about your acne scars. Check out the @teamacne page on youtube he cleared his cystic acne and he cleared his acne scars.

Great video!!!!! I never hated makeup but I was never one of those ppl who thought it was a big deal, I got saved in 2019 and threw what little makeup I did have in the trash summer of 2020. Now when I see make up I have great disdain for it. It looks demonic and whorish. I see it through a more Godly lens now and God does not like makeup. It’s actually a sin to wear it.

I see. I’ve got about a decade on you. I’d say to a young me that it’s important to explore your hunches but beware of dichotomizing your thoughts and feelings. What something means to you how it makes you feel at one point in time will continue to change throughout your life - don’t forget that experience is not finite. Anyway, keep exploring, peace.

@@zilzil7368 I agree, and I'd say one day I definitely will wear makeup again. It probably won't be on a regular basis, but I'm still so glad I had this journey because I can approach makeup from a place of confidence and not insecurity now. So if I do wear it, it'll be because I genuinely enjoy it and not because I feel like I need to in order to be worthy of love from others. And that truly makes this journey so worth it to me, even if it ends up not being permanent. 🥺
