I miss the see-through technology. I'm so nostalgic for this time period, before over-communication and the expectations that come from it. It's so tempting to buy one of those minimalist phones. What do you think about the vinyl resurgence?

Yeah truly, the feeling of just listening to an album and knowing no one can also call text or email me on the device was both a thrilling and a calming experience. I think anything that gets people excited about buying music is great! My favourite way to listen to new music tho is to get all emo about it and blast it on my headphones alone in my room. So i'd have to be in a particular mood for a vinyl experience.

Fantastic video. Here’s my experience: I signed up for Apple Music in 2019, this wasn’t going to replace my 500 (or thereabouts) cds nor stop me buying albums I’ve discovered on physical media if I really liked them. So streaming became an expense ‘on top’ of buying music, not a cost effective alternative. Another point, I was adding studio albums to my streaming library by artists with whom I only owned a partial discography, often just a compilation. This act became very unceremonious, building up a backlog of “must get round to listening to those 10 Bruce Springsteen titles”. Buying music makes me more selective and the cost means a slower rate of acquiring titles, which is more rewarding. I cancelled Apple music streaming a while back.

Thanks so much for watching! Good on you for keeping the album purchasing alive. Lately I have been feeling like maybe I have "failed" this experiment as I don't find myself listening to as much music these days. But I do feel like I have been more intentional about the music I have been listening to, which like you said has definitely felt more rewarding. Will probably make an updated video about it in the future, but thanks so much for sharing your story! Love to hear about people breaking the mould when it comes to music streaming.

Wow, what a wonderful video this was to find. I’ve been on a similar journey, removing myself from streaming and going back to physical media and CDs. I’ve been enjoying music now more than I have in years! Exact Audio Copy is an excellent way to rip your CDs into digital versions by the way! I subscribed :)

@@kereshimeideshou It's the best!! I'm so glad I've switched over to iTunes too from Spotify (not Apple music iTunes, but offline my CD library only iTunes). I've even made my own cover art for all my playlists, and the high quality rips using EAC are so great :') I'm actually appreciating and enjoying music again! I love being able to see all the stats on iTunes as well haha.

So glad you were able to buy the music from the Itunes store eventually lol. In this video you remind me of Crush from Nemo when you said "you just don't get stuff like that" 8:25 lol. Also love your editing/color grading at 28:15. You put so much heart into your videos

Yes!!! I truly can't believe it took me that long. Not sure if my Itunes was just a little messed up or what, but it doesn't give me much hope for others figuring it out. I think Crush and I are kindred spirits honestly lol. And thanks so much for the compliments on the grading! Been really putting my whole heart into these videos recently, and it's the little things like that that often go unnoticed. So I really appreciate you watching and pointing it out 🥰

I think the point was to reconnect to a nostalgic moment in their lives. Sometimes a brand new piece of tech can't achieve the same nostalgia as old tech.
