Nine years ago, I made the decision to quit my 9 to 5 office job and pursue a career as an artist. It was the best decision I ever made. Although it wasn't always easy, it brought me immense happiness. Videos like these were a huge inspiration to me, so I wanted to share my story as well.

Very inspiring story! Your work is beautiful indeed! At the start of this year i have started to make my own dolls with a combination of 3D printing and sculpting and it has been a very fun experiance. I also work in a boring job and just make dolls in my free time as my hobby but one day i would like to be skilled enough to sell my work.

I’m not into my major at college😢. I think of an art-related career a lot but never have courage to talk to my parents about that.

@@nguyenthanhha9411 I feel for you. If it makes you feel a little bit better, art school didn’t give me much. I still learned everything I do today on my own. The few things I’m grateful for art school is friends I made, the direction I chose there and general understanding about art. But all these things can be found in art classes outside of school, on KZbin, art books and your own passion for art. 🫶

I seen the feet! Thank you. I’m wondering, when you got started how did you up your production. I seem to struggle with never feeling like I’ve accomplished enough, that I don’t have enough things to sell. Making doesn’t seem like a slow process, but after a full day in the studio, I’m lucky if I finish one sellable product.

I’ve included a selection of dolls that are not one of a kind - my plush dolls. I make molds for their faces, so I can repeat the same doll many times fairly quickly. I need 2-4 hours to finish one. But it definitely was a journey to find what works. In a first few years my shop was always half empty until I figured it out. Also, making tutorials and courses helped a lot to have a stable collection of products. ☺️

I just love your person, so genuine and forthcoming with your Self. This video has sparked something special for me, it’s been an insane journey thus far with tremendous losses and the subsequent depression. Now I’m in danger of losing the home I’ve worked my entire life for and with it the last memories with my family and friends-all are gone now, much too soon. The severity of this depression is beyond my comprehension, I’m a go getter, active, clear minded and the survivor everyone used to come to. Despite all this and much more, my plan has been to do similar to what you’ve done (with my artistic stuff) but it will take longer than what I need and there didn’t seem to be any signs from the universe.. until now. I’m unsure which avenue yet. but there’s so many things that hit home in your video and I now feel more confident than ever about needing to do it for myself. I wish there were some magic answers to getting income immediately but at least I know I need to do my art in some form, thank you for that! 🤩💕

How did you manage your time while working for a regular job?

I was working on my art every day from 6pm to 9pm on weekdays and then most weekends. It was really hard. I didn’t have almost any social life, didn’t go to the gym. Creating dolls was my only goal in life. But deep down I knew I’m working towards something bigger, and this is temporary sacrifice.
