capitalism truly sucks the soul out of young creative people. despite you feeling that it’s “easier work,” the passion you would have for your labor simply doesn’t exist because you feel there’s no value in what you’re doing fuck the man, fuck the system, do things that make YOU happy and don’t mind anyone else’s commentary or feelings on the matter. proud of u sir

Millennials and GenZ are possibly the most productive generation(s) currently. And where to we find ourselves in that productivity? Wanting. As someone who's been within customer service within a multitude of offices, I can promise you, no one gets "used to it" I never did. Now that employment is harder to find than ever right now, I'm starting to turn to things that make meaning in my own life. I genuinely think there's something worth more in life than a job and a paycheck, perhaps that's just human connection and a means to make whatever it is you want to do real to have meaning around you with people you care for. The rat race has always been an illusion, but people seem to be beginning to see that fact. Keep on being you G Snipe, even if you're just figuring things out right now, no one person has the answers.

I worked for a corporate job for about 2 months and proudly got fired. These environments really are soul sucking and couldn't give a single damn about you or ethics. Everyone I worked with spoke in a somewhat robotic way, and I could tell (sadly) that everyone there has already lost themselves to their jobs.

I'm 24, graduated with a computer engineer degree from a college in the midwest. Got laid off two months into my first job. Found a new one and have been here 1 1/2 years. Still I don't see the point in working for other people though. There's so much more to life than making other people money, I want to start my own software business and apply my skill set to something I can control

For me it was my grandfather. One day here you are, on the next, you’re not and its over. For years I’ve been thinking about quit my corporate job, and now I feel it’s time. And i have so manu mixed feelings about it, because, well, we were taught that this is the right way, but this system for them may worked. For me? Not so much. (And I am saying this living from Brazil) A lot of my co workers are sick and taking so many pills daily. How can this be right? I understand you and wish you the best in the future. lol I relate. Almost 2 years in my corporate job and it feels like I wasted my time. I didn't learn any skills nor make any connections. I remember being on a call and seeing 2 people get heated over marketing emails...yeah...emails they would send to customers that would probably be looked at for a couple of seconds. Straight up yelling. I thought how can people take this job that serious? I'll probably quit in a month and see where the wind blows me

Would you be interested in having a dialogue about what it's like to be 22 in 2024? I think people need to hear our perspectives on the public education system, the gatekept college/university education systems, the structure of the current 40hr/week cycle. It's so clear that everything is broken right now. Look at the election in the states. How are people even entertaining these candidates as the best options for the largest economic force on the planet?
@g_snipe9 ай бұрын
Yeah its really overwhelming and I really want to touch on all this in other videos. I think late teens and 20 year olds can see right through fallacies of the system. Its really overwhelming. I don't think A.I. is going to go bad before it goes good. I think we're done with the "progress" that's happening in the 21st century. We don't really see the point of it anymore. New technologies get made but the old systems remain the same? Its why I'm trying to get into Blockchain development. Also I'm not some hopeless doomer. That is a miserable mindset. I think its honestly logic? I don't think I'm a lazy individual who wants stuff without earning it. I think working hard everyday is important and rewarding. But if I don't see it as providing any real value, it feels like I'm wasting my time. And that feeling for me was horrible and anxiety inducing.
@ImSodaLirious9 ай бұрын
@@g_snipe i identify with this heavily, but feel that the logic portion has consequently made me a doomer. I also have no issue working 40 hours a week; if it means I, as an individual working fulltime, would be able to support myself on minimum wage. That's what minimum should be; minimum cost of living. It secures you rent in a studio apt and marginal profit aside from basic CPI calculable necessities. But if you look at places in the USA like NYC or San Fran, it's a GTA lobby when a $ amount exceeding 100,000 is where low income starts. It's very clear to me that the geopolitical leaders are slowly turning up the pot until we boil over. You'd understand this analogy. We've filled the minecraft server. War, is the ultimate server wipe for new infrastructure. We're about to enter an era that demands new infrastructure, and demolition around people you have to take care of is expensive. It's quite clear what the capitalist psychopath solution is. I want to see politicians that have yet to be corrupted by greed. People without both feet in the grave. The most dangerous thing in this world is a human with nothing left to lose; and complacency has given them power
@ImSodaLirious9 ай бұрын
@@g_snipe also, the terrifying thing about AI is that it'll excell at everything better than any human could. That's the paradigm shift we're facing. It doesn't matter what field you cite, it'll find a way to do it better. Again, EVERYTHING. That cannot be understated
@g_snipe9 ай бұрын
@@ImSodaLirious I love Minecraft. Don't be sodalirious homie. There are good people out there. And if things are going to get better it will be from the individual. Don't give into what they spin on us. Those in power are scared of us. We outnumber them. Don't forget that. They're human too.

I am your age and unlike you, i dropped out of university as a comp sci major because I foresaw the recent AI developments. There's no point in pursuing what you spent all that money on anymore, which is really unfortunate. What is fortunate though, is that we'll have a large scale automation, and if it is used correctly, everyone will have at least 50% more free-time

@nhedd0s8399 ай бұрын
Large scale automation of what? Automation has been a thing for years and while that has gotten rid of some jobs its created others. They all require a college degree. Not sure what you're waiting for, but you'll probably need that degree if you want to work in the field. You can probably get an entry level position without one, but good luck getting promoted in the future. Unfortunately, for some fields you have to put in a great deal of effort and it can be very competitive. Sucks not having a lot of free time, but it's all about the pros and cons.
@ImSodaLirious9 ай бұрын
@@nhedd0s839 Large scale automation of literally everything. AI is a fundamental improvement on intelligence itself; meaning it can do any single thing better than a human or team of humans could ever do. Do you understand the forces we're playing with here?
