Have you thought of job corps? They give you place to live while they train you for a trait like plumbing electrical or anything like that you do have to live at school but shi free rent and they guaranteed to put you into a good paying job.

Can you drive on campus? I haven't looked into it after I joined the military. I went to a military school for my GED and job corps was an option for after you graduated but I just enlisted instead since I wanted to be in the military. But infantry doesn't have many traits that carry over on paper so now I'm back at square 1. Some kids from our class went but after the first week we all lost touch with each other from living different lives.
