Hey Jason, I was also employed as a part time funeral dude! Picked up deceased, delivered flowers, washed cars, dressed bodies, drove families... It was truly an honor to serve people during such trying times for them. My full time job was as a firefighter. I retired from the fire department after nearly thirty years. My last shift, upon leaving, I sat out in my pickup and cried. When you work at something for so many years it becomes a part of you. Now I am blessed to get to spend all my time with my family. Jason you made the right move.

I don't think you will find anyone that will say no to another video each week but I would suggest, to begin with so you don't get stressed, doing a surprise (nonscheduled) video of the other types of videos you want to try (cooking, flowers, etc) see the feed back. You don't need to decide right now. Enjoy all the new "free" time lol

I was 53 when I did it, back in 2010. Retired now, married a man who was also a truck driver, but local... gravel and construction. He FINALLY retired last June, full-time. The company he was working for, after he unofficially retired when he turned 62 (3 years ago), kept asking him to come back and help, and he didn't have the heart to say no, until last June when he decided he'd had enough of it.

@rhondaalbrecht
@rhondaalbrecht 3 жыл бұрын
@@wavytiger1 Depends on your POV. I didn't find that to be the case. :-) I love to travel, always have been. No hesitation about jumping in my vehicle, and traveling cross-country on the spur of the moment, so long-haul was in my blood. Have done this since I was a child, when my parents would take us kids cross-country on trips. To me, growing up, that was normal. I'd wanted to learn to drive a big rig since I was in my 20s, when I worked in Safeway Stores' Distribution Center, in the Truck Repair Shop as a secretary (back then, that was the title... today, it's administrative assistant). So I was around the trucks, climbing in them to do some of my work that was required. I got promoted to Parts Manager and so it would be my responsibility to make sure those trucks got the parts needed for service and routine maintenance. That meant climbing on the rigs. So I wanted to learn to drive them. Because of the unions, I couldn't even start up a rig just for safety reasons, let alone just move it from one spot to another. The teamsters and mechanics had to do it. I was jealous. Not any more!

I'm so happy for you folks that your channel has grown enough to support you. I am not a creator, just a viewer & subscriber. I'm not wired to put the amount of time into creating that you all do. I'm 71 & worked in my career until last year. I'm done making money, I just want to relax my schedule & pay attention to my Grandchildren & my three adult Children!!!

I only found your channel a short time ago, but I have already determined you are great parents. I don’t know of any one else who would come home from work and show such wonderful attention as you show your daughter.There are some out there that wouldn’t even come home after work. Stay close to the Lord and you will be blessed. May God bless you and your dreams.l am just a little old 84 year old grannie, living alone in S.Florida.

I've enjoyed every minute of you and your family Jason along with all the wonderful critters on the farm, thank you! BTW, not to be greedy, but I want to see it all, every step of the way. Cooking, new house, farmers market, animals, flowers, Mary Carl growing up, everything!

@@albanymountainhomestead It doesn't even mean their content will move, it's just an easy way to donate to channels. Some have special additional materials for patreons but still have plenty of content if not all their content still on the main KZbin space.
