I agree this affects everyone in the world. We should homestead because it brings us back to nature and back to Gods land. Learning how to care for ourselves and family is what life is really about. Because we shouldn’t have depend on a store to provide us food.

From Ireland My grandmother and grandfather raised seven children gave shelter to more and though poor in money were able to provide for themselves. They cured their own ham made butter had eggs milk potatoes vegetables and were self sufficient. It wasn't an easy life. My mum who lived till 90 years and only recently passed remembered working in the fields as a child picking potato's. It was a hard and simple life and was fortified by a strong Christian faith. Today Ireland has lost nigh all of its home grown industries with things like flour sugar vegetables being mostly imported and as a country who survived through the 2nd world war sufficient and proudly independent is co dependent on European and world supplies for things we used to produce ourselves. Even my lovely dad who passed in 202p at 92 who was son of a draper role us of them having their own cow and a functioning garden in the middle of their small town. Dad grew his own vegetables loving the peace his garden gave him from a busy office life. He felt close to God in his garden and summer yielded his glorious tomatoes lettuce onions..... My late sister taken too early from us who looked like a model and worked in management surprised us all by keeping hens and loved them. I think we do need to reasses where we are going we see the young people talk about the environment but to be honest I'm sure there are many today in Ireland who wouldn't know where milk or meat originate! Even my own nieces laughed at me for doing home economics as a leaving school subject. To this day I use what I learned in those classes. I was blessed to have great role models in my parents who encouraged me to cook and garden and eat well. It's sad that this green country has lost its way. Progress isn't always good there are lessons to be learned from a simple life. Cc 🇮🇪 ireland

Awesome Vlog Rory... I learned "Country Life" on my Grandparents property in Burks Falls Ontario, Canada but grew up in a "City" with my Parents in Toronto, Ontario & later in Glendora, California & now in Corona, California... My Grandmother was an original Avon Lady & she would take me from farm to farm delivering orders & my Grandfather was The Chef of Police in that township... It was a BEAUTIFUL lifestyle... I LOVE the "Country Life" & really Miss it as well as my Grandparents life lessons that will last a lifetime🤗✝️ The same Principles I see you installing in little Indy... Two statements my Grandma 👵 Always taught me is "FRESH IS BEST" She raised her own chickens too... And the other that was hung on her dining table wall... "The Family that PRAYS together... STAYS Together ❤️... Thank You Rory for ALWAYS Sharing such strong wholesome principles... Sometimes those are little sparks that grows in a person's heart. Hugs & BLESSINGS ALWAYS Rory, Indiana, Heidi, Hopie & Families... GBY ALL 🙏💖🧸💙❤️💙❤️💖🤗✝️

Love this video! They need to bring down the prices for the Homesteader's Confernece though. WAY to expensive for so many families who would like to go. So many have lost jobs and are barely getting by. They want to attend an event like this, but with such expensive prices for tickets, they can't afford it. Just food for thought. :) Many blessings! Great video!!!

I so enjoy following many homesteaders. My husband and I would love to buy an acreage, but we need to be realistic as well. We are older and lack many needed skills. However, I am a gardener! This year I have my largest garden and I am learning dehydrating, fermenting, and pressure canning. We are trying to live more simply. We rarely use our air conditioning, I cook from scratch, and hang our laundry outside. Collecting seeds this fall. We are growing where we are (currently) planted. God bless you all!❤️

I still Hope and Dream of a farm while the world descends into more and more chaos and brutality. I pray you are All safe and Sound and are well. Thank you for the learning, love, and kindness you have showed to me in the perfect time to spark curiousity and hope~ it has been a blessing and an honor to even view your knowledge for future generations. Learning it is just the beginning. I do hope my family can implement it. I do pray that this year is my year to see the Homesteader's Of America. Guess time will tell. I love that this farmer is developing sustainable farming. This is huge. It’s also more friendly to the animals. I know circle of life and nature but it doesn’t mean we should be cruel to them. Also think we need to do more of this to fix the planet. Obviously we can’t go straight to certain things but we need to transition to change and develop ways to stop the impact. And if farmers start doing this that’s a huge impact. Might not seem it but it is. Add the new farms to coral farmers and whales not being hunted (they help combat carbon in atmosphere) we can make an impact. Add in sustainable energy without stopping all oil obviously that’s a big impact to change. It’s a shame people get stuck in the way they do something and don’t want change. I like seeing him challenge that. I always wanted a farm. Hard work but rewarding I am sure. And important.

I started planning for a modicum of self sustenance in 2016. It took 4 years, but in 2020 I moved onto 30 acres and started building my mini homestead. I have gardens and chickens. I think about cows and pigs, but haven't made the leap yet. I'm in my 60ies and wonder if I'm capable of managing more animals. But the garden and chickens give me greens, eggs, and lots of chicken in the freezer. I also did a bit of stocking in emergency supplies, so I could get by for a couple of months without hitting a grocery store. I hope I never have too, but it is peace of mind knowing I could.
